#hartzeveryday2014 Week 4

Day 22: We have a new sink and...GRANITE!

Day 23: It's been a rough couple of weeks for Lincoln; pink eye, ear infections, and RSV. But, he is still smiling! Praying he starts to feel better and stay healthy.

Day 24: Thankful for a "snowday" since I would have had to stay home with Lincoln anyway. We spent the morning upstairs while Papa painted downstairs.
Day 25: Jackson was showing off his new hat. We love Bass Pro!
Lincoln checked out the fish for the first time.

Day 26: A little target practice at Drew's 5th birthday party.

Day 27: I spent another (partial) day at home with this cutie. He is still not 100%. We were soaking up some Vitamin D to kill the germs. So thankful for all of Sharon and Mel's help taking care of him.

"Snow" Days

We have had two days off due to ice here. I feel like God gave these days off just for me. Lincoln is still fighting RSV. I have been able to stay home with him and not have to miss school or use any sick days. He is in all the details!

I love this definition of a snow day that I saw on Facebook. I think it is pretty accurate!!

Grandma has played, played, and played some more with Jackson. They have an extensive truck shop up in Jackson's bedroom. She has also read a lot of books.
Lincoln has been a major mama's boy while fighting RSV. He won't let me be more than 2 inches from his side. He is on the mend but not quite a 100% yet.
We have to keep Jackson busy and entertained so he doesn't have a meltdown. He is so much better with a schedule and activity to do. He made a target for his bow and arrow and nerf gun. He had a blast shooting in the house.
And of course, Papa has been working the days away. We He is making progress and the kitchen is beginning to look really good. I am ready for the house to be back in order!
I am so thankful for these "snow" days even if there is actually no snow and it means going to school longer in June.

Construction Zone

Our house is in complete shambles, but the finished product will be SO worth it! Mel has been busy taking out florescent lights, installing can lights, patching the ceiling, running electricity, spraying cabinets, etc, etc. Have I mentioned how talented he is?!?!?
The final wallpaper in the house must go! The guys are coming Wednesday to install the granite counter tops. After that, Mel and Brian can lay the floor.
We have all been enjoying our time with Mel and Sharon.
Brian and I got to go out on a date. We went to eat at Chipotle and see The Lone Survivor.
Jackson has been busy playing and coloring with Grandma.
We have been outside playing a lot in the sun. Grandma is soaking up all she can before going back to Wisconsin.
I can't wait to post the finished remodel!

Eight Months of Lincoln

We are starting month 8 with an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection. No one has been getting much sleep at our house!
Lincoln weighs 19 pounds and is around 29 inches long. He is still wearing 9-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
. He takes a bottle around 5 or 6 in the morning, eats breakfast around 8, takes another bottle, eats lunch around 11:30 and takes another bottle, has another bottle around 3:30, eats dinner around 5:30 and takes another bottle, and has one last bottle around 7:30. He then goes down for the night.  He tried puffs for the first time and seems to like them. He even got a few in his mouth on his own!

Lincoln loves school, but will not nap there. He sleeps 30 min-1 hour all day. We had such a nice schedule going during Christmas break. (Hurry up summer vacation!)
He has 2 teeth on the bottom and is cutting a few on top.
He gets where ever he wants to go by scooting himself with his left leg while sitting up. I'm not sure he is going to crawl at all. Lately all he wants to do is stand up.

Lincoln,
You are quite the mommy's boy, which I don't mind one little bit! I think you even can say "ma ma". I pray daily that you will feel and grasp just how wide, deep, and everlasting the Lord's love is for you.  Waking up at 5 am is only bearable because I get to spend more time with you. Your smile and hugs melt my heart. It breaks my heart to hear you cough and see you uncomfortable. I am praying that you get well, but I am SO thankful you have no serious health issues! We couldn't imagine our family without you. Lincoln, you are very loved!
Love,
Mommy

#hartzeveryday2014 Week 1

I decided to try and take at least one picture each day and post on Instagram to document our life.
We'll see how I do!

Day 1: New Year's Day was spent at the park and bowling

Day 2: Costco trip; How is Lincoln big enough to sit up in the cart?

Day 3: Barnes and Noble Date and Jackson got an extra special treat Pete the Cat!

Day 4: The Zoo

Day 5: Our Sunday Best before Church

Day 6: Back to work I went. I am going to be honest, my heart is hurting. I miss my boys SO much, but I love my job!

Day 7: Lincoln loves his baths. He squeals when you undress him in the bathroom and splashes the whole time in the tub.

Brothers

There are some days Lincoln reminds us a lot of Jackson and other days when we see no resemblance.

Here they both are at 7 months.
Jackson was 9 months at Christmas time and Lincoln was 7 months.

I am not sure they look like each other, but I DO know that Jackson is great big brother. Lincoln already looks up to him and smiles when ever he sees Jackson.
Love these pictures of them

The Zoo

Saturday we went to the Zoo. I love going at this time of the year. The weather was perfect for walking around and the animals were up and about.
Lincoln's first trip to the Zoo. He is the best accessory!
Pete the Cat even made the trip:)
Lincoln did great! He loved looking at animals through the glass. As we would go past animals he would kick his legs and scream.
Jackson said his favorite animals today were the monkeys with blue and red faces and rear ends. The male one decided to mate with the female one while we were there. Jackson laughed and asked why they were fighting each other! I think I am still traumatized!
Silly boys!
Having a great time together!
Brian and Jackson watched Ice Age Christmas 4D.
The boys were all smiles when left. I call that a successful day!
What a fun family day!
