Swim team 2015

Summer swim team lasts from April-June. Our Saturdays have been spent at the pool from 6:30 until 12 (and even longer for Brian as he helped with the meets). We also were at the pool for practice every Tuesday-Friday after school, and then early mornings once summer started. We are all looking forward to a break, but what a fun season we had watching Jackson do his thing in the water!!

In between events the boys hung out in the tent playing games, resting, and refueling with snacks.

Lincoln was a trooper and some meets he was better than others:)

Some of the 6 & under boys

Waiting for his next event

Pep Rally before Divisional Meet

Jackson swam the free relay, 25 free, and 25 back this year.
At Divisionals he helped his team fight back from 4th in the relay and take 2nd. He placed 1st in both the free and back.

Swim team party; he earned a trophy for being the high point earner in 6& under boys

Love his determination and focus!

Jackson qualified for the elite meet at the end of the season in both free and back. You have to swim a certain time to qualify. He was seeded 12th in free and 27th in back going into the Pondersosa meet. He swam great in the prelims and qualified for Finals in both events.
He PR'd in both events with a 19.37 in free and 23.58 in back. Overall, he finished 7th in free and 9th in back. We are SO proud of his hard work, determination, and attitude he showed during the season!

#hartzeveryday2015 Week 25

Day 169: Feeling very blessed to live this perfect imperfect life with my boys and so thankful for the summer with them!

Day 170: Went to a funeral for a friend today, then out to dinner with my love, and then we were at a stop sign and got hit by someone going at least 40 and they took off. Reminded over and over today that life can change in an instant. All that matters is our relationship with Jesus and sharing His love with others. Praising Him we are ok!

Day 171: Just a little family fun and portrait with chalk!
Day 172: Happy Father's Day to our very own! Our boys are blessed to have such a loving, fun, hands on, God fearing, and encouraging Dad! Fun day celebrating Brian.

Day 173: Jackson has improved so much this swim season. So proud of his hard work!

Day 174: My cute lunch dates after a morning at the collision center and Enterprise. (Never thought I would say this, but hopefully we get the van back soon!)

Day 175: Confession: I totally enjoyed 30 minutes of quiet and my iced coffee parked at home while the boys finished their movie!:)

Day 163: At Chick-fil-a tonight they had a circus act. They were giving away prizes. Guess who won 4 free tickets to the circus? ME!!!

Day 164: Swim meet Saturday. Trip and Jackson on the ready bench.

Day 165: Best breakfast helpers around. Mickey Mouse pancakes for the win!

Day 166: Love studying God's word with my boy while his brother naps. Praying his life overflows with the fruits of the spirit.

Day 167: Might as well enjoy the rain from Tropical Storm Bill! :)

Day 168: My boys like to live on the edge:)

End of the School Year

What a great school year we had! Both boys loved going to school and had great teachers caring for them. Jackson did an outstanding job in Kindergarten. He is reading well beyond a 1st grade level. He made a ton of friends and had no conduct marks all year! So proud of that!
Both boys seem to grow quite a bit through the year!
We created our bucket list and are ready to enjoy our summer together!

#hartzeveryday2015 Week 22

Day 148: He actually ran through the water fountains tonight!

Day 149: End of Year Party with Jackson. He has made so many sweet friends this year.
My sweet class spoiled me. I am going to miss these sweet kids.

Day 150: Swim meet Saturday! Super proud of Jackson, he rocked the backstroke today. He took 4 seconds of his time and swam a 27.5!

Day 151: My boys love me so well!

Day 152 (June 1st): Kindergarten awards; no conduct marks all year!!

Day 153: I am so excited for the new opportunity God has given me. I am going to be the LA/Reading Instructional Specialist at Lowery next year. Definitely bittersweet to leave my school, friends, and students.

Day 154: Yes, we are always in the pool. Longhorn symbols for Lowery, I guess he is excited for next year!

Memorizing Scripture V3:11

1 Samuel 3:10 "The Lord came and stood there, calling as other times, "Kyndra, Kyndra." Then Kyndra said, Speak, for your servant is listening."

I love replacing names in the Bible with my own name. Too often I am busy or just not really listening to what the Lord is saying to me, that just like Samuel I don't realize the Lord is calling me.

About 3 months ago, the Lord was calling me to put my application in for an Instructional Specialist job in my district. I knew he was calling me, but I was afraid. I did listen, and after a few months of not hearing anything (God was at work all the while) I got an interview. Last week I interviewed and got the job at a school right in our neighborhood. I am overwhelmed at God's faithfulness and goodness in our lives. He orchestrated everything so beautifully over the last 2 (really 10) years to lead me to where I am going to be next year. Honestly, I am nervous but know that God will lead me and know I will learn to trust on Him even more.

I want to make sure I am listening, so I don't miss anything else God is saying to me!
