35 weeks

I look rough this week, in need of some highlights and sleep!

Cravings: Fruit, cold water

Sleep: Hard to get comfortable, using bathroom 2-3 times a night

Symptoms: Crazy dreams, heartburn, gas

Movement: Lots and lots, feel lots of little feet in my ribs

Maternity clothes: Yes

Size of baby: Over 18 inches long, size of a honeydew melon

Gender: Boy; Lincoln Wayne
What I miss: Sleeping through the night

Best part of the week: Lincoln's room is *almost* done
Looking forward to: Getting my hair done

I can't believe it will probably be less than a month and we will meet Lincoln. I am so excited to see his sweet face, see if he looks like Jackson, and watch Jackson interact with him. Not sure how I can love another little boy like Jackson, but I'm sure it will be the instant they place Lincoln in my arms.

Time Together

This week has flown by!

Jackson has enjoyed playing with Papa and Grandma and going to preschool a little late and leaving early. We have been enjoying a lot of time outside swimming and at the park. We are also being blessed by a clean house, dinner, and laundry and yard work being done for us!
One trip to Menchies after Jackson's baseball practice
Brian and I enjoyed a date day on Saturday. We enjoyed shopping and lunch out together!
While we were gone, Papa took Jackson fishing. They dug up their own worms.
 Not much luck.
Caught one little fish, but not big enough to keep.
Jackson was upset because he wanted to eat fish for lunch. So, they took him to Long John Silver. Ha!

Beach Day

Brian's parents arrived late Saturday night. After sleeping in Sunday morning we headed down to the beach. It was a beautiful day, despite the wind.

We set up the tent at the beach which helped block a lot of the wind.
Jackson had earned a kite for earning enough smiley faces on his behavior chart. He couldn't wait to try it out!
Since it was quite windy he needed Papa and Daddy helped. The penquin is flying way up high.
Yay!
After flying the kite, Brian and Jackson played in the water. The water was as warm as the air outside.
He sure does love the water!
Can you believe we have been together half our lives?!?!
We ended our time at the beach playing in the sand.
Jackson kept digging and filling up the bucket to dump water into his pool.
Papa and Grandma traded 37 degrees and snow for 73 degrees and sun. Good choice!
After the beach, we drove over to The Strand for some ice cream at the Old Fashion Palor.

And a few pictures by the red telephone booth.
Brian and I have a few pictures in front of here, but none with Jackson or a big belly.
What a fun way to spend a beautiful day!

Movement: Lots and lots, feel lots of little feet in my ribs

Maternity clothes: Yes

Loving the bumper!
Not much has changed. I am feeling pretty good, just a bit big!

The First Game

Jackson had his first baseball game on Saturday. (Notice he is the only one with out baseball pants and cleats. We already fixed that issue for next game.)
While playing second base, he realized he knew a player from the other team. Emeka stopped running, and they talked for a minutes. HA!
On the bench waiting for his turn to bat.
Got a hit on his first swing and made it safely to first.
Unfortunately, he only got to bat once and spent most of the game in "ready" position in the field. He fielded a ball once and forgot to run to third with it.
Maybe the best part of the game!?!
We had no idea what to expect, but overall I think it went well. Jackson still says he likes baseball and thinks he's an all-star!

Diamonds and Diapers

Friday evening I got up and went to my baby shower that my sweet team threw for me.
My firstborn and me
The baby shower theme was Diamonds and Diapers. They decorated in Tiffany blue. Everything was just perfect. Jeannine had a tree set up where guests could leave a wish for Lincoln, thank you cards were provided for guests to write their address on, and they even created party favors (chex mix and shower scrub) for the guests.
The invitation said Diapers for Lincoln and something special for mom. My friend Emily got me this beautiful necklace with Jackson and Lincoln's initials. I will treasure it forever!
The incredible ladies I work with on a daily basis. SO thankful for great coworkers and friends. They went above and beyond for Lincoln and me.
I tried to get a picture with everyone that came. I think I missed a few.

I am so thankful for the prayers of many of these friends as we were trying to get pregnant and throughout this pregnancy.
It was such a fun night out celebrating Lincoln and just hanging out with friends!

I am feeling quite BIG these days. I thought it was fun to see when my belly popped. I think it may have been around week 30. And apparently some people just noticed I was pregnant, ha! The lady doing my pedicure asked if I was 4 months along, um No, make that 8 months and our custodian at school just came up to me and asked are you pregnant!
Many thanks for the continued prayers for Lincoln and me.

Memorizing Scripture V2:8

"The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all." Psalm 103:19

A great reminder in times of good and bad that He is still in control and His kingdom reigns!

Highlights

I can't complain about the week nights because Brian picks up Jackson, and they are both home when I get home. Brian does a devotional with Jackson, and I cook dinner. But, the nights are not nearly as relaxing as the weekends.

A few fun things we did this weekend:

1. Date Night
Our church had Parent's Night Out and we took advantage. We went out to dinner at Chuy's and ate our weight (which is a lot these days) in creamy jalapeno dip! We also did some shopping. Jackson really missed us though. He even woke up Saturday morning and the first thing he said was "Mommy, I really missed you last night." Melts my heart.

2. Latte and Pedicure
Brian sent me off for a pedicure and eyebrow wax first thing Saturday morning. Coffee, gossip magazines, pampering, alone time= a pretty great start to any morning! I always leave feeling like a new woman:)

3. Artwork
Brian created a canvas for Lincoln's room. I LOVE how it turned out!

4. Picnic at the Park
After church we drove to the park with a few animals. We enjoyed lunch outside together and then looked at the animals. Jackson was disappointed the goats wouldn't come eat grass from him.
Jackson also played on the playground and kicked the soccer ball around with Daddy.
Just like Daddy:)
 5. Shaved Ice
On the way home from the park we picked up some shaved ice because we were all a bit warm. Jackson didn't remember it from last year, but quickly knew he liked it!

Summer Preview

One night last week, Brian realized the whole pool was really warm. He had heated the whole pool without meaning to. We weren't going to let it go to waste, especially since it was a beautiful evening.

Jackson had a blast jumping in, trying to dive, and swimming back and forth across the pool.
My little fishy
Big arms

Jackson even talked Daddy into throwing him up in the air.
So fun!
Daddy's the best.
The pool really is our favorite part of our house!
We are all looking forward to swimming together every day this summer!

Side note: Brian overdid it with Jackson and was out of commission the following evening because of his health issues. Please pray for his doctor appointments on Wednesday and healing in his body. Thanks.
