The Rest Of The Week

Jackson was able to spend a lot of time with Papa Gary, Grandma Elly, Garrison, and Katelyn while they were here.

During the week Jackson;
-skipped preschool on Monday and went to Chuck E Cheese with them
-had Grandma take and pick up from preschool almost every day
-had lunch at McDonald's with them
-had to sit and watch us eat Menchies (it's tough being 3)
-played at the park with Garrison and Katelyn
-ate and played at Chick-fil-a

-spent the evening with Papa and Grandma while we went on a date
We went to Chuy's for dinner and to see Here Come the Boom. Seriously one of the funnies and most inspiring movie I have seen in a while. Go see it!
All the kids wanted a picture with us!

-fought, cried, loved, and played with Garrison and Katelyn every day

After we got home from breakfast Saturday morning Jackson said, "I sure do miss them and wish they were still here." That's the worst part of living so far away.
Thankful for our time together!

Trick-or-Treating

Halloween was such a fun night!
It is not a holiday we make a big deal about or spend a lot of money on. Jackson will never dress as anything scary.
Jackson got to trick-or-treat with Aaron, Garrison, and Katelyn.
He was SO into it this year! He ran from house to house and up to the door all by himself. The candy got him excited at every house!
We trick-or-treated up and down our street and around our block. The kids had 2 buckets full of candy by the time we were down.
All the kids were sweaty and headed right to the bath when we got home!
I love spending time doing fun activities with my boy Bob the Builder!

Visitors

Where has the week gone?
My parents arrived last Saturday night. Jackson had been waiting all day for them to arrive!
My dad broke his leg and has 5 weeks off of work, so they made a trip down to see up.

Sunday morning we went to church. Garrison loved the Sunday school class they had for him. He asked if he could go every week.
Mom didn't get the memo to smile:)
 My parents and me!
After church, we came home to wait for Aunt Midge and Uncle Dan to go to lunch. I love this picture Brian snapped of Katelyn while the kids were playing.
Waiting for lunch with their fire hats on!

Later on Sunday, my mom made a batch of rollout cookies. Jackson helped her cut out pumpkins, and we all chipped into frost and decorate them.
LOVE this picture of me with the boys.
 Yummy cookies!

Pumpkins and Sugar

Friday when Brian got home from work he helped Jackson carve his pumpkin. Jackson told him exactly what to do.

“Never Once”

Standing on this mountaintop
Looking just how far we’ve come
Knowing that for every step
You were with us

Kneeling on this battle ground
Seeing just how much You’ve done
Knowing every victory
Was Your power in us

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

Kneeling on this battle ground
Seeing just how much You’ve done
Knowing every victory
Was Your power in us

Carried by Your constant grace
Held within Your perfect peace
Never once, no, we never walk alone

You are faithful, God, You are faithful
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

These words feel like my life song and one that I have been singing back to the Lord to praise His great name!

This has been a long journey to having another child. We have had the desire on our hearts since after Jackson was born. We received many no’s, but we finally have our yes! Through this tough journey, the thing that never changed is that we always felt God’s peace and love. We never felt alone. I actually never felt his love more!

Bed Rest

We found out September 24th that we were pregnant. I immediately stopped working out and started taking progesterone daily.

I went to my first appointment at 6 wks and 2 days. I was anxious and at the same time had such a peace from God. We saw and heard the most beautiful thing ever; a beating heart. The baby measured at 5 wks 4 days and its heartbeat was 138 beats a minute.

My doctor is seeing me every week just to keep a close eye on everything. When I went to my appointment last Thursday (7 wks 2 days), I was just praying all still looked good and that my cyst didn’t get any bigger. I left leaving with instructions to go on strict bed rest for 4 days because of a subchronic hemorrhage, aka a bleed.

Brian moved the guest bed downstairs so I could be around the action. The toughest part of bed rest is getting thing organized for school. They have been super supportive, but I still am having to get a sub and send in sub plans.

Friday night we had a Chick-fil-a picnic on my bed and watch Madagascar 3 together. Saturday morning Emily and Huntley came over. Jackson had fun playing, and I enjoyed talking to help pass the time. Jackson and I have played many games and read a lot of books in bed.

I have entered grades, painted my nails, read many magazines, and am bored out of my mind. My aunt brought dinner over Saturday night, a teammate brought over dinner Sunday, and John bought us dinner for Monday night. My cousin also came to visit and bring some reading material. SO thankful for the help of my team and my aunt, generosity of others, and prayers galore.

Tuesday morning I had another appointment to check on the size of the bleed. It was 1.3 cm last Thursday and it shrunk to .7cm yesterday. Baby grew and measured 8 wks and heart beat was 156 beats per minute. I thought I might be able to go back to work, but I am still on bed rest for the rest of the week.

Since yesterday was Brian’s birthday, we went and had lunch together at BJ’s before he went back to work. It was great to get out for a little bit.

Please pray the bleed heals and baby continues to grow.
