First Soccer Game

After two weeks of practice, it was finally game day!
We weren't expecting much in terms of actually playing and scoring after what we saw at practice. However, team New Zealand surprised us! Coach Brian prepared them well:)
They play 4 on 4 with no goalie. The coaches are on the field coaching them.
Jackson scored 2 goals. I happened to catch one on video.

I am most proud that he tried his hardest and didn't cry.
I think it will be a fun season, and I'm excited to watch his get better!

An Apple Crisp Kind of Weekend

There was some talk of cooler weather coming to town this weekend.
And it came, but not until after Jackson played his first soccer game in the 90 degree heat!
Would you believe Jackson is the youngest of the three?

The two teams we cheer for; Packers and Texans. Jackson is more of a Texans fan!
Cheering on the Pack!
Cutest fan ever!
We spent lots of time together at the movies, park, outside, and watching football. A perfect fall-ish weekend complete with taco soup, apple crisp, and caramel apples!

Sea World

We spent the weekend with Mel and Sharon at Sea World. We had year passes and wanted to get another use out of them. We thought if Mel and Sharon came with us, Brian and I would be able to go on rides with Jackson and not worry about Lincoln.

It was a rainy Saturday and as soon as we entered the park it started raining. Jackson and Brian were able to go on a few rides first thing.

Lincoln's first ride on the Merry Go Round.
I snapped this picture before the ride and it never actually began. The storm came through, and they shut down the rides.

We were able to watch all of the shows, but the rides stayed shut down a majority of the day.

Jackson and a diver from his favorite show Azul.
We ended up eating dinner at Sea World so we could stay for the Shamu show. Good thing we did because the rides opened up after that and Jackson was able to go a few more before we left.
I was so proud of Jackson for not crying or getting upset about the rain. I know he really wanted to go on more rides, especially the River Raft one.

Brian and I went back over to Sea World around 7:30, and Jackson and Lincoln stayed at the hotel with Papa and Grandma. Sea World was having Hallowscream so Jackson couldn't come back with us. We took advantage of a kids free night and enjoyed a fun date. We rode the roller coasters and went through the Haunted Woods.

Despite the rain (and humity), we all had a great time!

A Quick Visit

Mel and Sharon just returned home from a brief visit to see us. Jackson couldn't wait for them to get here. He stayed home a few days from school to play with Papa and Grandma.

Jackson talked Papa into getting him breakfast almost every morning! They also played a lot of soccer at the park.
Lincoln gave them lots of smiles and laughs.
We are all spoiled when they are here.
We are thankful for time with family,
and wish Wisconsin wasn't so far away!

Memorizing Scripture V2:18 & 19

I forgot to post my verse last time.
Lamentations 3:22
"Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Thankful for his faithfulness in my life. I need Him every moment, every hour of every day.

Proverbs 31:26
"When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instruction with kindness." NLT

What a great reminder as a wife, mother, and teacher. My words are powerful.

One Year Ago

After two miscarriages and two years of trying the positive lines we saw on September 26, 2012 turned out to be the sweetest blessing.
Lincoln you are answered prayer and a daily reminder of the God who loves us dearly and never once let us go. We are so thankful for your life!
"For this child I prayer." 1 Samuel 1:27

First Taste

\
In an effort to try and get Lincoln to sleep longer at night, we tried rice cereal this week. I had given Jackson veggies to start with at 4 months. Our pedi said the new recommendations for veggies is 5-6 months. I went back and forth at what to do. Brian couldn't understand why I was contemplating it so much. Of course, I just want to do what's best for my little guy.:)
Lincoln wasn't so sure about the first few bites, but my the end he got the hang of it. He would lean in and chomp on the spoon. I think he liked it.

However, it did not help the sleeping. He was still up at 2. He must really love me!
We'll keep on trying and praying it keeps his tummy full for longer.
