Summer Getaway

Each summer we try and get away somewhere close by for a few days of fun with the boys. This year we went to the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio.

Day 1:
Here we go!!

Had to stop at Buc-cees!
Lincoln couldn't even look up for a picture. 2nd child gets treats way sooner than the first:)

Once we arrived at the resort, Lincoln and I hit up the kiddie pool. Jackson had been acting cranky all morning and was running a low grade fever when we got there.

After some Tylenol and rest, Jackson swam and ate a little.
He was able to roast and enjoy some Smores.
Yummy! Sweet brothers!

Day 2:
Praising God for a beautiful morning, time away with my boys, and that Jackson is feeling better!

Ready for some fun!

Hitting the slides with my big boy!

Lincoln was loving the slides as well:)
He would slide down the "big" yellow or blue slide and one of us would catch him. We would lift him out and he would yell "See you later, going on blue slide!" Everyone would laugh at him everytime:)

Playing Bingo during Lincoln's nap.

We enjoyed the water park again until dinner time and roasted marshmallows for smores again:)

Our last morning and we were down to the water park when the sun came up!

First in line for the slides.

We also enjoyed the lazy river, Starbucks and dinner at the resort, the beautiful views, and time relaxing in the room.

So thankful to be able to take vacations and make memories with my boys!

Happy 4th of July!!

We spent the 4th of July at one of my student's beach house. Their family has become friends of ours.
Fun with the photo booth and props!!

The boys (and us adults) had a blast on the water slide all day!

Lincoln napped and we played a bunch of lawn games.

We took the golf carts over to the beach and the boys played in the water and sand. Jackson's friend Kaleb can not take a normal picture.:)

We stayed and watched fireworks from their balcony, and then headed home.
So thankful to live in America, but also praying for a nation to turn back to The One who gives us freedom and eternal life.

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36

Swim team 2015

Summer swim team lasts from April-June. Our Saturdays have been spent at the pool from 6:30 until 12 (and even longer for Brian as he helped with the meets). We also were at the pool for practice every Tuesday-Friday after school, and then early mornings once summer started. We are all looking forward to a break, but what a fun season we had watching Jackson do his thing in the water!!

In between events the boys hung out in the tent playing games, resting, and refueling with snacks.

Lincoln was a trooper and some meets he was better than others:)

Some of the 6 & under boys

Waiting for his next event

Pep Rally before Divisional Meet

Jackson swam the free relay, 25 free, and 25 back this year.
At Divisionals he helped his team fight back from 4th in the relay and take 2nd. He placed 1st in both the free and back.

Swim team party; he earned a trophy for being the high point earner in 6& under boys

Love his determination and focus!

Jackson qualified for the elite meet at the end of the season in both free and back. You have to swim a certain time to qualify. He was seeded 12th in free and 27th in back going into the Pondersosa meet. He swam great in the prelims and qualified for Finals in both events.
He PR'd in both events with a 19.37 in free and 23.58 in back. Overall, he finished 7th in free and 9th in back. We are SO proud of his hard work, determination, and attitude he showed during the season!

#hartzeveryday2015 Week 25

Day 169: Feeling very blessed to live this perfect imperfect life with my boys and so thankful for the summer with them!

Day 170: Went to a funeral for a friend today, then out to dinner with my love, and then we were at a stop sign and got hit by someone going at least 40 and they took off. Reminded over and over today that life can change in an instant. All that matters is our relationship with Jesus and sharing His love with others. Praising Him we are ok!

Day 171: Just a little family fun and portrait with chalk!
Day 172: Happy Father's Day to our very own! Our boys are blessed to have such a loving, fun, hands on, God fearing, and encouraging Dad! Fun day celebrating Brian.

Day 173: Jackson has improved so much this swim season. So proud of his hard work!

Day 174: My cute lunch dates after a morning at the collision center and Enterprise. (Never thought I would say this, but hopefully we get the van back soon!)

Day 175: Confession: I totally enjoyed 30 minutes of quiet and my iced coffee parked at home while the boys finished their movie!:)
