Master Bedroom Makeover

While Mel was here back in January, we decided to redo our Master bedroom.

We painted out dark brown walls a grey and added a ship lap wall behind our bed and painted it white.

We added valances that matched the bedding,

and went shopping for new decorations.

So much lighter and inviting!

Memorizing Scripture V4:6

Psalm 119:37, "Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in your way."

I chose this verse because I want to be more present with my boys and those that I am living life and not be consumed with Social Media. I love the phrase "revive me in your way". Jesus will give me new strength or energy and transform my life. I am going to put my phone away from the time I get home after school until the boys are in bed and be more conscious of my time on Social Media. I want to LIVE my life, be present, and revived by HIM!

Day 64: 1 on 1 game time with Jackson. 

Day 65: I'm excited for Brian to finally have a truck!! He's feeling like a real Texan now, and thanks to me he got a great deal!

 Day 66: Lots of goodies waiting for me today! Loving my Level 2 bracelet!

Day 67: Date Night watching This is Us!

Day 68: Safety first!

Day 69: Two nice catches for Jackson!

Skipping school was worth it!

Day 70: The rain caused us to cancel our plans for camping, but Jackson did get to play his last basketball game. Most points on his team for the season!

Day 57: Feeding ducks and rock throwing!

Day 58: Jackson and I went to support my former students at the Name the Book competition, and they won 1st place!

Day 59: We are jumping for joy, because I paid off my student loans!

 Day 60; This sweet boy is no longer wearing diapers at night!! PTL!!

Day 61: Thank goodness I had some Menchies to help me analyze Benchmark data.

 Day 62: Happy 8th Birthday Jackson!

Day 63: Party Day!

Jackson is EIGHT!

I can't believe my boy is turning eight!!

I love this boy more than my words can ever say!

He made me a mom, that day is forever etched in my mind.

Jackson,

You are a boy who loves a schedule and likes to stick to it. You are helpful, kind, sensitive, intense, mature, smart, and have the sweetest heart!

You love to argue and are never wrong! :) 

You are tall, like 4'8 tall, and growing into quite the handsome boy!

You are inquisitive, word and number smart, and can spell almost every word. You love to read and read almost 4 books a week. I love our special reading time together at night, and love learning with you.

You love to swim and are quite good, play basketball, fish, write, read, play outside, Pokemon, sing, and Jesus!

You bring such joy to our lives, and we are so thankful God blessed us with you.

I pray that this year you draw closer to God and love more like him.

Happy 8th birthday, Jackson!

Memorizing Scripture V4:5

Psalm 118:24, "This IS the day that Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

I chose this verse because I wanted a reminder to stay in the present; not dwell on the past or be so busy looking to the future that I forget to live THIS day He gave me to the fullest. I want and pray to be present in the moment and not miss anything with my family because I'm too busy preparing for the future. Also, I want to rejoice and be glad no matter the circumstances. I pray I will be an example for my boys in how I choose to respond to life's events.

I pray each day I will make an impact and live THIS day to the fullest!!

Day 50: Perfecting his pirate smile at Costco!

 Day 51: Jackson and I finally got to watch BFG together, after reading it this summer. We let Lincoln watch with us too.:) 

Day 52: Lincoln was one of the best listeners at school today, and he informed Brian he wishes I would pick him up everyday! I love this boy!

Day 53: I have some great helpers!

Day 54: I take great joy in praying over and speaking truth over these boys in the morning! What a privilege it is to be their mom. I fail many times a day, but am so thankful God's love is faithful and forgiving!

Day 55: Fun night with friends on the Boardwalk celebrating Paul's birthday and this is the only picture I took! Guess I was too busy talking and eating! Fries and burgers were delicious!
