A Day In The Life (Summer Edition)

Believe it or not, summer is almost over. I have like 2 more weeks with my boys because the craziness of getting ready for a new school year starts.

I have loved being home with them everyday and don't want to forget what our days (for the most part) were like.

I usually stay up pretty late working on things for the upcoming school year, doing house work, etc so I usually sleep until the boys wake up.

Most days we are up between 7:30 and 8:00. The boys eat breakfast and play while I work out.

Then it is Bible time. We do a devotion, and Jackson works on learning his verse for the week.

Around 9:30 or 10:00 we would go to the library, play at the splash pad or swim, meet friends, or run errands.

Lincoln would nap from around 11-1 most days. During this time it was all about Jackson. We would play games, school, read books, make crafts.
Lunch is often just sandwiches and the boys eat everything faster than I can make it. I rarely get to sit down and eat with them. I forgot to mention that they basically eat all day! Some days that is all I feel like I do:)

Once Lincoln wakes up he loves to play in Jackson's room. Then, we may go swim again, run errands, meet friends, or just play at home. I try to plan at least one activity outside the house each day.
Daddy usually gets home by 3:30. We can't wait to see him.
I love these days with my boys, some days are easy peasy and others are a bit difficult. So thankful for a relaxed summer and a chance to be a SAH mom:)

#hartzeveryday2014 Week 29

Day 196: That's how we feel about entertaining Lincoln for 2 hours at the doctor office. Good news: Jackson arm is healing well, and we got to have lunch with Daddy.

Day 197: Fun morning at the Splash Pad, this is one of Lincoln's favorite places right now

Day 198: Jackson is always on the look out for people that are standing on corners to hand out the granola bars he decorated with pictures and verses. I pray he always has a heart to be Jesus' hands and feet.

Day 199: Happy Friday! Cherishing these moments as crazy as they may be.

Day 200: Bike trail Riding:)

Day 201: "The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic." Amen!

Day 202: Jackson requested BLT's for dinner again because the spinach makes his muscles grow!

Nine Years

Happy Anniversary to us!
Nine years seems like a long time, we aren't the two young newlyweds anymore:)
I am so thankful for Brian, and even more thankful that God is still working in our marriage and us to draw us closer together and to Him.
We celebrated last weekend. We went out to eat and to Miller Outdoor Theater to watch a musical. A guy even gave us second row seats (where there is air conditioning) and offered us some wine! I love spending time with Brian. He is my best friend, makes me laugh (hard), serves and loves me unconditionally, and still takes my breath away!
Here's to 90 more years!

"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12 NLT

Fourteen Months of Lincoln

Lincoln has grown and changed quite a bit since he turned one.
Right around 13 months he started walking, he is basically running now!
He "talks" quite a bit saying; mama, dada, Jackson, yes, woof,
He waves hi and bye.
Books are a favorite of his, especially Llama Llama.
He is finally sleeping good at night. He usually sleeps from 8-7. We have a great nap routine down as well.
He prefers just to be laid down in his crib and not rocked.
He is more adventurous in his eating habits now. He is eating pretty much everything we eat. Some of his favorites are: french toast, oatmeal, grilled cheese, tater tot casserole, pizza, and peanut butter and jelly.
He is quite the character with a big personality. He knows what he wants and is determined to get it. He is always on the move and carrying something with him.
Lincoln,
I love your big smile and laugh! You are the sweetest boy but know how to throw a fit. I love watching you grow, learn, and make connections. You love seeing the dogs and cats outside. One of my favorites is when you come running to me with a book and turn around to back yourself into my lap. I am so glad God blessed our lives with you. You are loved more than you know, and I am praying big things for your life.
Love, Mommy
