2 Years of Lincoln

Happy 2nd Birthday Lincoln!!
You are full of life, animated, strong willed, tough, and oh so sweet! You give the best hugs and have the sweetest voice when you say "Thank you" and "Sorry". You hold your ground against your brother and often make him cry. You know and say a lot of words. My favorite is when you say "I carry you" meaning you want us to pick you up and carry you.:) You are about 35 (75%) inches tall and 28 (60) pounds. You are a solid boy that likes his snacks!:)
You have brought so much joy, thankfulness, laughter, and tears into our lives since the day you were born. I still can't look at you or think about your life without giving God praise and remembering how faithful He is! You are a Mommy's boy and are attached to my hip most days after school.
You love Mickey, swimming, bike rides, playing at the park, Titus and Jacob, wrestling with Jackson and Daddy just to name a few.

Lincoln,
You are my sunshine! I love you to the moon and back and am so thankful God chose me to be your Mommy. I pray you use your zeal for life and strong will to do big things for God's glory. Thank you for loving me and making me laugh on a daily basis. I want you to know I pray for you daily, and I will always love you unconditionally! Happy Birthday sweet boy!
Love, Mommy

#hartzeveryday2015 Week 18

Day 120: My students did an amazing job hosting Poetry Cafe for their parents and grandparents today!

Day 121: (May 1) Friday night make up game. Great hits and 1 out for my favorite baseball player!

Day 122: Impromptu stop at the Splash Pad today on our bike ride. We needed to cool down!

Day 123: I came down to get Lincoln breakfast, and Jackson had gotten the clothes out of the dryer and was folding them. I didn't ask him. I'm thinking this chore chart is awesome! Maybe I should add make dinner:)

Day 124: Had to bring this sweet boy home from school after he threw up several times under my table (he was resting). Poor guy!

Day 125: Nothing better than rocking my little guy (love how he holds my hand), especially after 12 hours at school.

Day 126: Book fair shopping with my boy! Love having him at school with me. :)

Memorizing Scripture V3:9

Jeremiah 17:7 "But, blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him."

I love what my devotional said about confidence the other night.
Insecurity says, I can't
Confidence in God says, I can because God will show me how!

I need this verse stamped on my heart. It's not my perfect performance that captures God's attention- it's my complete trust in and dependence on Him.

Memorizing Scripture V3:8

Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."

I am a planner! I like to have a schedule of when things are going to happen, and I like to check things off of my to-do list. During this slow adoption process, I can't do any of that.

I have learned, relearned, and am still trying to master waiting on the Lord. His timing is always perfect, and His plans are always better than mine!

Psalm 27:14 will be a great reminder to trust in the Lord's timing! He is SO faithful!

Please pray with us for the right timing and moving forward with the adoption process. Thank you!
