October 17...

is the day we get to find out what we are having. I had a doctor's appt. on Tuesday and all went well. It is always assuring to hear the baby's heartbeat. I am going to post a picture of my belly, but I am almost too embarrassed to because I think I look more fat than pregant. I still have not worn any of my maternity clothes and hope I can go a few more weeks before needing to.

16 1/2 weeks

We went back to school Monday and the schools came back on Tuesday after Hurrican Ike. My kids actaully did a really good job getting back into routine and following directions. I am glad to be back, I get bored at home! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous, and we are taking advantage of it by taking lots of walks and bike rides.

Please continue to pray for a healthy pregnacy for me and the baby!

Thankful

We got power back about 7:30 Monday night! We are very thankful for what we have but are praying for those whose still do not have power and may have lost everything. Please continue to pray for everyone affected by Ike and those helping with relief efforts.

37 hours without power

We are fine! There is some damage to our fence in the backyard and tree branches in our front yard. The worst part is that we still do not have power. You forget how much you depend on electricity for almost everything! We are grateful for some friends who let us come over to their house yesterday to hang out and spend the night. Thanks Butch and Jenny and Beau and Deanna! We are at my aunt's church right now hanging out and playing games. Please pray that we will have our power back soon.

Hurricane Ike

Hurricane Ike is on its way to make landfall in Galveston at approx. 1:00am on Saturday. We have estimates of winds at 75-80 mph around our area and 4-8 inches of rain. We don't really know what to expect! We bought lots of water, filled our pitchers, and stocked our cupboards. Hopefully, we are ready. Please for pray for Ike to weaken, move quickly through our area, and safety for all the people in this area. Thank you so much!!

Gone in 60 minutes!

My doctor is going to go with March 11th as my due date, so that makes me 12 weeks and 6 days almost 13! How exciting to be almost through the first trimester:) I am happy that all my clothes still fit, it makes picking out an outfit for work easier. I am going to tell the people at school this week since my stomach and my butt are getting bigger or at least fatter.

13 weeks
Praise God we sold Brian's car within an hour of listing it on Craiglist!! It was crazy, we got at least 25 phone calls and had some people on the way when we sold it. All for a 96 Camry, who knew?

A Busy Week!

I started school. The week was long, but it went well! I am looking foward to the year with my students. It is an adjustment for me because I am used to teaching everything and now I am just teaching Language Arts. I love it! It is great getting to teach what you love twice and my 8 minutes drive is so nice!:) I don't dread the afternoons anymore, that is when I used to teach math and science. God is SO Good!

We also bought me a new car. I got a Jeep Liberty Sport and am liking it so far. Now pray we can sell Brian's 96 Camry. All the pictures are for my dad so he doesn't have to stop anyone else at Wal-Mart! Love you Dad!

The hitch for dad to see:)
Please pray for strength for Brian and me as we have a lot going on in terms of being pregnant, school, work, and other commitments. Thanks

Quick Update

My summer is officially over! Not that I mind, I love teaching and can't wait to meet my students for the year. I have been busy setting up my classroom (I'll post some pics later).

I am at 10 1/2 weeks and today we heard the heartbeat for the first time. It was 164 bpm and then my doctor did a free ultrasound in the clinic. I really found an awesome doctor. Brian saw the baby move it's hand, I missed it. But, the baby was really active rolling all around. I can't wait to feel it. Thanks for all your prayers!
