Why oh Why

Does he have to be SOOO cute?

We took Jackson to get some professional pictures done this weekend. We thought it was time since we haven't done any yet, and while we were there I was wishing we had taken him in right after he was born. I thought I take enough pictures, but there was a newborn girl there and they got some really sweet pictures. Oh well, I know for next time:)
Here are a few of the shots we got. Brian got Jackson to give us some good smiles.

And that is why I bought too many pictures. I couldn't help myself! I can't wait to hang the big pictures we got of him and I won't wait so long to go get some more taken.

Jackson's Room

Brian painted a blue stripe around the room. I like the stripe but I feel like the tan needs to be darker or we something. Not sure what else we are going to do. Any suggestions?
He stills needs a dresser and bookshelf, but we are making some progress!
Still lots to be done in the other rooms as well! I can picture in my mind how I want my house to look. Now I want to open my eyes and have it be done without spending the money or time to do it:) I guess it will get done sometime!

Mr. Mom?

Unlike the movie, I think Brian could handle it:)

I have had something after school every night this week, so Brian has been picking up Jackson and taking care of him by himself. On Monday night I came home and the house was clean, dishes done, floors vacuumed, and counters spotless. Tuesday night I came home to dinner on the table, yummy chicken tacos:) Wednesday Brian took off so he could Jackson to the doctor for his 6 month check up and shots. Jackson did not even cry, I guess daddy should take him everytime. Brian also took care of a long To-Do list. Thanks honey you're the best!

What shots?

Bathtime with daddy and rubber ducky is so much fun!

Sitters

Jackson is sitting really well by himself now. He will have occasional tip over, but sometimes I think he wants to do it so he can roll and get toys from somewhere else:)
The car toy is his favorite. He loves to turn the steering wheel back and forth. He is now doing the same thing with his bottle. It is too funny!

Do you know anyone who would want to watch this adorable, happy all the time, sweet boy?
We are looking for a new baby sitter for Jackson. If you do know someone please let me know right away. Please pray that God would provide the right person to love and watch Jackson while we are at work.

MPG (Not miles per gallon)

Yesterday, was my day of pampering for my birthday. I went and got my Massage and Pedicure in the morning, and then headed downtown with Brian for dinner and to see Grease.

This was my first professional massage and I must say it was heavenly:) I enjoyed every one of those 60 minutes. I really did not want it to end. I then went and had my pedicure done, by the time I got home I was relaxed and had very soft skin. Brian and Jackson cleaned the house and did some laundry for me. What sweet boys!
We dropped Jackson off at my aunt's house and headed downtown. We got there early so we could eat and walk around awhile before the show.
Downtown

The show was fun and we got to see Taylor Hicks (American Idol winner) perform during and after the show. The box seats that Brian got were also very nice. We had our own chairs and no one in front or behind us to bother us. We did have two "very nice guys" sit next to us:)
In our box:)
Kayla, You missed an AWESOME show. I sang along to all the songs just for you:)

The Doctor Will See You Now

Jackson is sick for the first time. He woke up Sunday night around 11 and couldn't breathe. We suctioned his nose a million times that night. I stayed up with him most of the night rocking him. Even though he looked horrible and didn't feel well he still would look up at me and smile. Monday morning he had a 100.4 temperature and I gave him some tylenol throughout the day. He wasn't as congested and was able to sleep better last night. This morning he still had a fever and just didn't look like he felt good. So, I stayed home from school and took him to see the doctor. He was laughing and smiling at the doctor and having a good ole' time. She said he had an ear infection in both ears, the left one was worse. He is on an antibotic for 10 days. She also told me to start feeding him MORE food!! I know Jackson will like that:) I am praying my little boy starts to feel better soon.
Have an ear infection
But still so happy

6 Months

Picture on my back
I don't think so
Maybe on my belly!

I can't believe Jackson is 6 months old! Has he really been here for a half of a year? Although it is hard to remember life without him.

6 Month Tidbits
-Weight: 18.8 pounds
-Height: 28.5 inches

-Teeth: still just 2 on the bottom

-Eats: sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans and still breast fed

-Sleeps: In his own room in his crib, 9pm-5am most nights, sometimes wakes up earlier to eat

-Clothes: Mainly 6-9 months, some 3-6 months in shorts and some 12 months in onesies

-Likes: to eat:), play in his exersaucer, read books, take walks, roll all around, take his pacifer out and put it back in, suck on his thumb/fist, put anything in his mouth especially paper, wants anything he should not have:), talk to himself when playing, baths/swimming and splashing with his feet, getting his diaper changed he usually laughs, playing with other kids

-Does not like: taking a afternoon nap, loud noises

-Working On: Sitting up by himself for more than 20 seconds, crawling (He likes to push off things and scoot forward)

Jackson is still a laid back, easygoing baby! He laughs and smiles ALL the time. It seems that each day he gets smarter and does something new. We love him more each day!

Icing on my cake

Happy Birthday Mommy!

On Thursday, Jackson turned 6 months and I turned 26. Brian hurt his back on Monday but he put his time off to good use: Planning a great Birthday for me:) I got a handwritten note from him first thing in morning. Jackson and him surprised me when they showed up at schol during my planning time. While I was showing Jackson off to my co-workers, Brian was setting up a DVD he made for me in my classroom on the projector. He actually tried to set it up early in the morning so when I came to school I would be able to watch it. But, he brought a blank DVD with him instead of the one he made. That's okay it all worked out and the video was really sweet. He then gave me my gift which consists of tickets to the Grease musical, a massage, and pedicure next Saturday morning before we go see the musical downtown. (He even has a babysitter all lined up.) Our seats are in one of the private boxes. I can't wait for next Saturday it will be like another birthday! That night we just went to eat at Chick-fil-a because we are going to go out next Saturday before the musical for my birthday. It was raining when we left for Chick-fil-a but when we got there we spotted a rainbow. It was neat to be reminded of all of God's promises on my birthday.
The rainbow, it is there!

I might have picked Chick-fil-a anyway because it is one of my favorites:) A employee also made my day when she told me I looked like a Barbie! Not true, but so sweet. Thank you Brian for putting so much time and thought into making my birthday truly special! All that was missing was the birthday cake!

Pure Joy

This boy brings us so much joy and can put a smile on our face at anytime!

I have been reading James this week and I have really been focusing on James 1:19-20 "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires." I thought this would be a great verse to pray each morning before school. It has been, however, it has also been great to recite it over and over again during many circumstances. I get upset easily about things that I can not control. This verse along with James 1:2, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds" have helped me numerous times this week. I was also able to share these verses with some of my coworkers:)
