PreK Graduation

Last week Jackson had his PreK Graduation. He was so excited about it, and wouldn't share any secrets with us a head of time!:)

They started with the pledges and circle time songs.

Next, was a Pet the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes song. It was the cutest thing ever! Jackson is so serious during a program and does everything just like he was taught.

Finally, it was time to walk across the stage! :)
 Cutest kid ever!

Jackson and his teachers did a great job, but it did get long and this is what Lincoln thought about it!

I really can't believe he is already big enough for Kindergarten, but I am so excited for him to come to school with me. I am grateful that we will get to be together!
But, we will enjoy every minute of summer first!

First Days

Well summer vacation has come and gone!

Jackson and Lincoln met their new teachers for the year last week. Jackson was/is super excited about his new school and classroom. Their teachers are beyond wonderful!

I was only going to take the boys to school Tues, Wed, and Thurs. this week, but Jackson insisted he needed to go on Monday! So off they went. I love that he is so excited about school! Jackson technically is not in Pre-K but the class he is in follows the curriculum that the public school uses.

Lincoln was also pretty pumped about going to "school" for the very first time.

They both had a great first day! Lincoln only fussed once, and Jackson can't wait to go back tomorrow. I'm praying that pattern continues and their teachers love on them all year.

School's Out

Jackson started preschool in August and ended his year on Friday. They had a bounce house and a special lunch to celebrate. He has grown in several areas this year; but mostly height:) He is 3 1/4 inches taller!
Overall, Jackson did very well at school. He picks up on concepts very easily, but also cries just as easy. He tends to be a perfectionist, so when things don't go just how he wants he gets upset. We will be working on that this summer.

I asked Jackson about some of his favorites from this year:
Friends- Emeka, Garrett, Adam
Madison, Addison, Victorie
Activity- Art, Songs
Lunch I packed- Peanut Butter and Jelly
Center- Lego's
Job- Watering flowers

And in case you were wondering...Jackson is still loving being a big brother!
Looking forward to the summer days with my two boys!

Christmas Party and Show

Thursday morning, Jackson had his Christmas party at preschool. Being the wonderful parents we are, not one of us was able to take off and be there the whole time. Thankfully my wonderful team covered my lunch duty, and I was able to spend an hour with him.

Jackson was beyond excited when I got there. He was running around showing me his presents and talking a mile a minute about what they did in the morning. Good thing he didn't miss me too much. I was a little worried because my 1st graders sometimes cry when no parent comes to their party. Aunt Midge being there helped I'm sure!
I finished eating pizza with Jackson for lunch and then helped him make a gingerbread house.
We had some practice on this activity! As much as I wished I could have made the whole party, we made the most of the time I was there and had a blast.
(Sidenote about the reindeer shirt: Jackson has wore this shirt no less than once a week since Thanksgiving. It was less than $3 and a bit small, but a 4T was all they had and he really wanted Rudolph with googly eyes.)

Jackson had been counting down to go see the puppet show. Second Baptist was putting on The Crazy Christmas Show and he was excited to go. We went Friday night after getting some dinner at Chick-fil-a.
The set was fun and Jackson could hardly wait for it to start.
The whole show was really fun, upbeat, and about the true meaning of Christmas. They used some oldies and current songs and changed the lyrics to tell the Christmas story. It kept our toes tapping. Jackson even stood up and danced some.
Another fun Christmas activity in the book and on the list for next year too!

Christmas Program

Saturday morning, Jackson's preschool had a short Christmas program. The girls dressed as angels and the boys as shepherds or donkeys. Jackson chose to be a donkey. Jackson acted extremely shy once again when we got there and wouldn't let me leave his side until he went on stage. He even hit his teacher when I tried to leave him and she grabbed him. I tell you, this parenting stuff is pretty humbling!

Jackson knew all his songs, and Ms. Csharie told me his sang the best at practice. He didn't disappoint during the program either. I was trying to not to laugh the whole time. You can hear his little voice louder than everyone else. On the second and third song he even added a silly accent to his loud voice. Love that he isn't shy on stage!

After the program they had crafts, lunch, and decorating cookies.

Thankful for fun activities put on by Jackson's preschool!

First "School" Picture

Jackson had his picture taken at preschool a while back. I didn't know what to expect with my goofball. I am pleasantly surprised at how nice he smiled. He said "Mr. Funny made him do it."

How could I not buy a few pictures? He is such a charmer! They also took a class picture with his teachers that turned out sweet.
I am thankful that Jackson likes going to school and gets to learn about Jesus too!

Lots Going On

Friday night was date night!
Brian and I went bowling, and I actually beat him the first game. Not even joking!

Saturday morning, Jackson rode his bike and I walked over to Katrina's baby shower. He was just too cute riding with his helmet and backpack on.
Jackson was so excited to see Katrina and meet Titus.
Thankfully Jackson was pretty well behaved.

We attempted some family pictures. Not sure if we got anything worthy to be placed on the Christmas card.

So thankful to spend the night out and about with my loves!

Sunday morning, Jackson sang at my aunt's church with his preschool class. I love how nicely he is walking in.
All week at home he was practicing very loudly. I thought for sure he would be shy and quiet on stage, but he was definitely didn't disappoint. He was so fun to listen and did a great job with the words and hand motions.
After the service, there was a fall fest. Jackson participated in a pie eating contest against 4 other little boys.
No surprise that he won 1st place!

I forgot to mention the naps I took Saturday and Sunday because I am one tired mama! We had a great weekend together, and I am already counting down to Thanksgiving break....6 more school days!

1st Day of Preschool

Jackson had his 1st day of Preschool today!
He is attending my Aunt's church's preschool, thanks to God for working out all the details for him to go there.
He was very excited and picked out his shirt for his first day!
Last week, we dropped off his sleeping bag and a treat for Miss. Debbie. He was already for today. He walked right in and started playing before we left.
Miss Debbie, Let's get started on the right foot and have a BALL this year.
Love, Jackson
When we picked Jackson up we asked how he did. Miss Debbie said, "He had a great day. He is very mature, I forget he is only three, and he is very serious about his food." She has our boy figured out!

Before we left for Preschool this morning, Jackson wanted me to take a video of him.
I can't believe he is old enough for Preschool!
