Less than a week ago, I decided to obliged to Jackson's request and sign him up for the Texas Typhoon Kids Triathlon. We quickly gathered all he needed (EVERYTHING) and searched and asked for tips. He practiced his transitions in the driveway yesterday and never once trained for the bike or run legs.
Up and at 'em at 4:45, and he is legitimately so excited and giddy! He just couldn't wait for his first triathlon experience (and I was so nervous I would mess something up since Brian was out of town)!
Getting everything set and ready at the transition.
Off he goes into the water!
Lincoln and I sprinted over and just caught Jackson coming out of the water headed to his bike. I knew we wouldn't catch the bike and run so we waited to watch the run out. On the way, a friend reminded him to take his helmet off and he dropped in on the way.
Then, we ran to the finish line and waited for Jackson to cross!
He did amazing! So proud of him!
21:06 for his first triathlon; 100 meter swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run
Lincoln was so proud of Jackson! I loved the sign he made. :)
When the results came in, we found out he took 2nd place overall and 10 year old boys!!
He's incredible!
I told him he had such a gift, and he told me being a mom is my gift. Melt my heart!
And, then we spent the day at the waterpark having so much fun together!!
What a great experience for us all!!
