EAT. BEACH. SLEEP. REPEAT.

The summer is winding down, so we enjoyed one last vacation together in Galveston with the Loucks!

The boys and I headed down around lunch time, and Brian joined us just a few hours later.

Brian wasn't even at the beach 30 minutes when Jackson and Justus came to tell me he lost his swim trunks in the ocean!! He dove into a wave and the next thing he knew his shorts were gone!!
I still can't believe it, and the shorts never showed up!

The boys loved being in the waves!

Golf cart riding!
The beach house was like 3 minutes away, so back and forth we went!

Boccie ball competition!

Slumber party for the boys and Rook for the adults!

New shorts!!

Jackson loved hunting and catching crabs!

At one point he had at least 15 crabs in the bucket before we let them go free!

A break from the beach with a water fight!

We can't get enough of the beach or the golf cart!

The beach wore him out!

Sand building fun! Castle empire, whale shark, and a sea turtle!

LOVE!

Always thankful for time with my boys especially surrounded by God's handiwork!

Daddy does anything for his boys!

Proud of his own masterpiece!

God's promises are all around us!

Three cheers for toes in the sand and salt in the hair!

Beach Weekend was a success!!

Beach Day

Brian's parents arrived late Saturday night. After sleeping in Sunday morning we headed down to the beach. It was a beautiful day, despite the wind.

We set up the tent at the beach which helped block a lot of the wind.
Jackson had earned a kite for earning enough smiley faces on his behavior chart. He couldn't wait to try it out!
Since it was quite windy he needed Papa and Daddy helped. The penquin is flying way up high.
Yay!
After flying the kite, Brian and Jackson played in the water. The water was as warm as the air outside.
He sure does love the water!
Can you believe we have been together half our lives?!?!
We ended our time at the beach playing in the sand.
Jackson kept digging and filling up the bucket to dump water into his pool.
Papa and Grandma traded 37 degrees and snow for 73 degrees and sun. Good choice!
After the beach, we drove over to The Strand for some ice cream at the Old Fashion Palor.

And a few pictures by the red telephone booth.
Brian and I have a few pictures in front of here, but none with Jackson or a big belly.
What a fun way to spend a beautiful day!

Beautiful Day

On Saturday, we took a family trip to the gulf. Instead of going to the beach we usually go to, we tried the state park.

Jackson has been wanting a boogie board for awhile, well Wal-mart was sold out so he got a fish/squirter board. Of course, we told him it was a boogie board.
He tested it out first thing!
Not to bad!
The weather was beautiful and the water was nice and warm. What a great day to marvel at God's creation!
I so enjoy watching this boy having fun. He lives out every moment of every day.
Mel and Brian tried out a little fishing and caught a small fish.
Meanwhile, someone else was reeling in a string ray. CRAZY! He cut the barb off because he let it back into the ocean.
Jackson had a blast swimming and riding the waves with Daddy,
and digging with Papa.
Brian caught about 10 hermit crabs for Jackson. Jackson kept them safe and cool in his bucket. We brought them home, but they died. Now, we just have some cool shells.
Thankful to spend some time with Papa and Grandma
The entire time we were there I kept thinking what a beautiful day it was. I soaked up every minute of sun, fun, and this cute face!

Beach Fun

Brian's parents arrived Tuesday evening from Kansas. Friday morning Brian's sister Traci and her family flew in to spend their spring break with us too. We picked them up and headed straight to the Gulf.
After a major construction delay we made it and wasted no time getting into the water.
Jackson told us he didn't want to go in the ocean because the dolphins might get him and I was more worried about sharks:)!
He must have forgot all about them because he LOVED the ocean and the waves.
Brian would take him out pretty far and help him ride a wave in. He was not a fan of the salt water and would come up spitting it out.
The water was warmer than I expected it to be. I got brave and put my swimming suit on and tried to go in, but then the combination of being wet and the wind made me cold.
Thank goodness for a fun daddy!
Leo and Lily loved the water just as much. Lily had absolutely no fear!
Riding the wave in again! So much FUN!
There was also some playing in the sand. The master builders at work!
My love!
Sweet cousins
It was a beautiful Good Friday!

he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed."
