The Zoo

The boys LOVE the zoo.
Jackson has been asking for months to go. It was on our Summer Bucket list but we put it off for a while due to the summer heat.

Jackson woke up at 6 oclock Saturday ready to go to the zoo!
The fish tunnel is always a must!
We were really looking forward to seeing the new gorilla exhibit and it didn't disappoint.
Lincoln loved them, and Jackson was so excited that they were Silverbacks!
:)
We said hi to Paddington and Lincoln roared at him for a while!
We also got to see the 3 day old baby giraffe. So cute!

We got caught in a downpour, and the boys loved running and splashing in the water.
Lincoln was very cautious during this trip to the zoo. He was sure to ask "He can't get out?"
Such a fun morning seeing some of God's creation together!

The Zoo

We had some beautiful weather this weekend, read not in the 90's!
I had been wanting to take Lincoln to the zoo because I knew he would just love the animals, and he did! I watched him more than looked at the animals.

He loved crawling through the fish tunnel and stopping to look at them!
Cheese:)
 Checking out the animals
He wanted to walk and do everything on his own!
Lincoln was making faces and noises at the giraffes
 Love them!
We decided to go on the train after we left the zoo, and again Lincoln wanted to be Mr. Independent and sit on the seat by himself. He clapped each time the whistle blew and the train moved.
What a fun family day, thankful for the time together!

The Zoo

Saturday we went to the Zoo. I love going at this time of the year. The weather was perfect for walking around and the animals were up and about.
Lincoln's first trip to the Zoo. He is the best accessory!
Pete the Cat even made the trip:)
Lincoln did great! He loved looking at animals through the glass. As we would go past animals he would kick his legs and scream.
Jackson said his favorite animals today were the monkeys with blue and red faces and rear ends. The male one decided to mate with the female one while we were there. Jackson laughed and asked why they were fighting each other! I think I am still traumatized!
Silly boys!
Having a great time together!
Brian and Jackson watched Ice Age Christmas 4D.
The boys were all smiles when left. I call that a successful day!
What a fun family day!

The Zoo

Saturday was beyond beautiful and what a better way to spend it than outside at the Zoo! We got there 10 mins before they opened and enjoyed less people and cooler temps.
Jackson requested to see the Sea Lions almost right away, good thing because we got to see the Zoo Keepers feed them breakfast.
Not a whole show, but more fun than them just swimming in the water.
First trip riding in the wagon. He loved jumping in and out.
Zebras

Jackson's favorite part is feeding the giraffes. I don't think it will ever get old.
A little bit of fun in the Children's Zoo.

Down in the cave we got to get up close with the lions.
Fun times and memories made as a family!

Randoms From the S's Visit

The boys (and Lily) went fishing one day while the girls went shopping.
My handsome fisherman.
 Jackson with a catch
 Leo and Lily with Papa
Lots of fun playing at the park together
We were also able to go out to eat a couple of time with everyone. Willies was a hit because the kids could play in the sandbox while waiting. Jason tried craw fish for the first time and Mel thought he was out on the boat!
Jackson was lucky enough to go with them to the Zoo while Daddy and Mommy worked. It was a beautiful day in the low 80's, but the Wisconsin folk thought it was too hot!
Jackson served as their tour guide and let them know where to go.
Lily cracks me up! She has no fear. She likes all kinds of insect and spiders. She was carrying a beetle around one night and wanted to hold a gecko. She couldn't get enough of it crawling on her leg.
The last night they were here we went to the Splash Pad.
Of course Lily loved it!
It looks like Leo did too!
And Jackson was thrilled to be back!
Not sure why we didn't go sooner.

Thanks for coming to visit and play Jason, Traci, Leo, and Lily.
We hope you have cooled off!

The Zoo

I guess going to the Zoo is becoming a January tradition. The weather was just perfect for a trip to the Zoo yesterday. The animals were up and about, and we could walk around with out sweating to death.

Jackson wanted to start with the elephants. This one was the only one that was out the first time we went by.
I have a lot of pictures of Jackson's back and Brian and I holding him up to see!
Jackson was even more excited this year about all the animals. He would tell us all about the animal he just saw until we got to the next one.
 Playing some music with Daddy
Jackson loved seeing a real turkey after we talked about them at Thanksgiving and he had made his own.
 Family picture in the "jungle"
I must have really liked the monkey in the tree.
Jackson would hold my hand on and off as we walked through the Zoo. So sweet!
We watched the lions for a while. The male was sleeping right in front of us. The female came out of nowhere and jumped on the male. Then they started playing. I wish I would have caught it on video. Jackson was still talking about that today.
We had seen the giraffes when we went through the African forest the first time, but we went back at feeding time so Jackson could feed them some lettuce. Brian tried to shoot a video of us feeding the giraffe, but the giraffes eat the lettuce so fast and we only had 3 pieces.
It was a neat experience being up close and personal with the giraffes. I recommend doing this if you go to the Zoo, even if you pay $5 for less than 30 seconds.
We were trying to get a family picture with the giraffes, but I guess they moved on for more lettuce.
After feeding the giraffes, we went and had a picnic lunch. Then we enjoyed looking at some more animals. Jackson wanted to see the elephants one more time. This time the baby elephants were out. Jackson called them Peaches, like the mammoth from Ice Age!
Jackson didn't want to leave the Zoo, so when we asked him if he had fun he said "No!" But, on the way home he watched the video of him feeding the giraffe 30 times with a big smile on his face the whole time. He is such a character!

I love how the Zoo never gets old. No matter how old you are or how many times you go, there seems like I see or notice something new. Animals are such cool part of God's creation.
