16 Months of Lincoln

Lincoln is 16 months! How?
He is at such a fun stage right now and learning something new everyday!
At his 15 month appointment (or really 16 month) he was 32 inches tall and 24.6 pounds. 70% for both.
He loves to eat, but only what he wants. One day he likes something and the next day he won't eat it because he wants something else. His favorites include; waffles, french toast, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, pizza, crescent rolls, crackers, and yogurt. Vegetables are not a favorite. I will try to hide them in his food, and he will spit out just the veggies even after chewing them up a bit.
He is a HAPPY boy! He wakes up with a smile on his face.
He is saying a lot of words and "talking" to us. He says; Jackson, Mama, Dada, cracker, shoe, sock, ball, car, cat, more, done (and more I can't think of them all right now).He understands everything we say and is always making us laugh!
He loves, loves, loves Jackson! He asks for Jackson the minute he wakes up, when we pick him up from school, and all day long. He loves to follow him, play with him, and just be by him.
He likes school and does not cry any more when I drop him off. He even sits at a little table in a chair and eats breakfast.:)
He is a great sleeper! He takes one nap, usually from 12-2 and then goes to bed around 7-7:30 and sleeps until 7-7:30. We rock him for 5 minutes and then lay him down. He loves being outside, playing at the park, and swimming in the pool. He also loves reading books. He knows his alphabet book, Peek a boo book,  and 8 Silly Monkeys and does the motions and interacts with them. I love it!
Lincoln,
We absolutely love you! God gave us such a special gift in you. You have such a strong and sweet personality. I pray for God to use you in a big and mighty way for His kingdom. I am so thankful for you and love when you come running to me with your arms out when I walk in the door after school. Nothing is better than seeing you smile and screaming, "Mama". I hope you will always be a Mommy's boy.
I love you sweet boy,
Mommy

Fourteen Months of Lincoln

Lincoln has grown and changed quite a bit since he turned one.
Right around 13 months he started walking, he is basically running now!
He "talks" quite a bit saying; mama, dada, Jackson, yes, woof,
He waves hi and bye.
Books are a favorite of his, especially Llama Llama.
He is finally sleeping good at night. He usually sleeps from 8-7. We have a great nap routine down as well.
He prefers just to be laid down in his crib and not rocked.
He is more adventurous in his eating habits now. He is eating pretty much everything we eat. Some of his favorites are: french toast, oatmeal, grilled cheese, tater tot casserole, pizza, and peanut butter and jelly.
He is quite the character with a big personality. He knows what he wants and is determined to get it. He is always on the move and carrying something with him.
Lincoln,
I love your big smile and laugh! You are the sweetest boy but know how to throw a fit. I love watching you grow, learn, and make connections. You love seeing the dogs and cats outside. One of my favorites is when you come running to me with a book and turn around to back yourself into my lap. I am so glad God blessed our lives with you. You are loved more than you know, and I am praying big things for your life.

12 Months of Lincoln

We made it to a year!
Lincoln weighs 21lbs 6oz and is 30 inches long. He is smaller than his brother was at this age.
He is a great eater! He will eat whatever we are having for dinner. His favorites are grilled cheese, pizza, tater tot casserole, strawberries, yogurt, and graham crackers.
He has slept a lot better this past month. Most nights he sleeps through the night. He still only naps about 1 hour at school. He is still drinking a couple bottles a day and one before bed. We are transitioning to a sippy cup at meal times, and whole milk. I am super proud that I made it to a year of breastfeeding/pumping!
Lincoln has 10 teeth and is teething like crazy! He still scoots around, but can pull himself up on anything and is walking around the furniture. He can stand by himself for a while, and is fast with his walker. He should be walking soon. Lincoln is happiest when he is outside and in water! He just started clapping and giving high fives. He can say "Ma Ma", "Da Da" and lots of other jibberish that sounds like words.

I can't wait to see what the next month brings!

11 Months of Lincoln

Another month closer to ONE!
He weighs somewhere around 22 pounds and around 30 inches long. He wears mostly 12-18 month clothes. His sleep is hit and miss! Some nights are better than others.
He still has six teeth and is a great eater! He eats just about everything we do. He loves waffles, oatmeal, and cereal bars for breakfast. His favorite so far is grilled cheese. He can put a whole sandwich away! His teachers always comment on how well and how much he eats. Sounds just like his big brother, Jackson!
He got another ear infection and croup this month. We are praying that is it for a while! He can now pull himself up. He will take a few steps if we are holding his hands. He is quick and into everything!
Lincoln,
You are such a sweet boy with a big personality! You make me smile all day long. You are funny! You are content to play by yourself sometimes and other times I can't walk away without your crying. You think your brother is the best and love him paying attention to you. I am holding on to the times I get to hold and rock you to sleep. I love praying over you and watching you sleep. I am so thankful God gave you to us!

Ten Months of Lincoln

Here we are at 10 months!
Lincoln now has 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom.
He has 2 more trying to make their way through on the bottom.
He still weighs right around 20 pounds and is 30 inches long. He is wearing 9-12/12-18 months in clothes and now size 4 in diapers.
We had another ear infection this month and some teething, but overall he has been sleeping well. He begins to get fussy around 7:30 and is usually asleep by 8:00 and will sleep until around 5:30/6:00. Just this week he started sleeping better at school. At home he takes 2-3 naps a day.
Lincoln is eating more solids but still likes his baby food. He has tried chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, banana muffins, graham crackers, Greek yogurt, and cereal bars. He is drinking less breast milk throughout the day. I think we have another good eater on our hands!
He is still not crawling, but gets where he wants and what he wants. He gets up on his knees and tries to pull himself. He loves to stand and play. He waves "hi" and "bye" and cries anytime I walk out of the room.

Lincoln,
How are you only 2 months away from being one? I feel like we were just getting ready to meet you, and now I am planning your birthday party. You are so much fun. I love watching you try to figure new things out; you are so determined.  Being outside makes you very happy!  I am looking forward to spending all of Spring Break playing with you.  I love you more than monkeys love bananas!

Nine Months of Lincoln

We had a rough month between RSV and teething. I am so glad he is finally feeling better! He now
has 3 teeth, and one more is about to come through.
Lincoln weighs around 20 pounds and is around 29-30 inches long. He wears mainly 9-12 month clothes.
He sleeps well when he is feeling good. He goes to bed around 8 o'clock and sleeps until 5 or 6 o'clock. At home he takes two 1-2 hour naps a day, but at school he only sleeps 30-60 minutes.
Lincoln loves to eat, especially food. He drinks a bottle first thing in the morning, late morning and afternoon, and one more before bed. He also eats 3 big meals a day. He is getting really good at getting puffs and banana pieces in his mouth.
He still isn't crawling, but is very mobile. He still gets where he wants by scooting himself with one leg behind him. It is getting very tricky to take pictures of him because he won't sit still. He "talks" a lot.

Dear Lincoln,
You are too sweet! Your smile makes me melt EVERY single time. You have become aware of when we leave and you don't like that. You love your brother and are always interested in what he is doing, You don't want to miss out. You enjoyed having Papa Mel here. Him and you were early morning and late night buddies. You love being outside and swinging at the park. Everything about shouts joy, I pray that is always true!
We are so glad you are part of our family. I love watching you learn and grow!

Eight Months of Lincoln

We are starting month 8 with an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection. No one has been getting much sleep at our house!
Lincoln weighs 19 pounds and is around 29 inches long. He is still wearing 9-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
. He takes a bottle around 5 or 6 in the morning, eats breakfast around 8, takes another bottle, eats lunch around 11:30 and takes another bottle, has another bottle around 3:30, eats dinner around 5:30 and takes another bottle, and has one last bottle around 7:30. He then goes down for the night.  He tried puffs for the first time and seems to like them. He even got a few in his mouth on his own!

Lincoln loves school, but will not nap there. He sleeps 30 min-1 hour all day. We had such a nice schedule going during Christmas break. (Hurry up summer vacation!)
He has 2 teeth on the bottom and is cutting a few on top.
He gets where ever he wants to go by scooting himself with his left leg while sitting up. I'm not sure he is going to crawl at all. Lately all he wants to do is stand up.

Lincoln,
You are quite the mommy's boy, which I don't mind one little bit! I think you even can say "ma ma". I pray daily that you will feel and grasp just how wide, deep, and everlasting the Lord's love is for you.  Waking up at 5 am is only bearable because I get to spend more time with you. Your smile and hugs melt my heart. It breaks my heart to hear you cough and see you uncomfortable. I am praying that you get well, but I am SO thankful you have no serious health issues! We couldn't imagine our family without you. Lincoln, you are very loved!
Love,
Mommy

Seven Months of Lincoln

Lincoln has accomplished many things this last month!
He weighs about 18 1/2 pounds and around 28 inches long. He is now wearing all 9-12 months clothes and still size 3 diapers.
He is now eating 3 meals and drinking 6 bottles a day. He weaned himself from nursing, but I am still pumping 4 times a day. He has tried oatmeal cereal, peas, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, acorn and butternut squash, prunes, bananas, peaches, pears, and applesauce. His favorite has to squash and pears. He is a great eater like his big brother!!
He is sleeping from around 8 at night until 5 in the morning. He does not nap well at school, maybe 45 minutes a day. At home he takes 2 longer naps and a shorter one each day.
He is now sitting up independently, pushing himself up, scooting himself forward to get items he wants, and has 2 teeth on the bottom. The top teeth are making there way in now. He is "talking" up a storm and constantly smiling. He loves bath time, especially when he gets in the tub with Jackson.
Lincoln,
You are seriously the sweetest baby! You are so smiley and happy most of the time. I hope you never lose that joy. Christmas time is even more fun with both your brother and you. He loves you so much and is making sure we don't forget to buy you some toys:) Jackson looks for you first thing every morning and loves to play with you. I pray that you two will be best friends. Thank you for bringing so much joy and love to our lives. I love watching you grow and can't wait to see what God has in store for your life.

Six Months of Lincoln

Half a year already? It can't be!
I don't feel like much has changed this last month with him. He is getting stronger and almost sitting up by himself. He rolls and moves himself all over the floor and play mat.
He weighs 16 pounds 15 ounces and is 27.5 inches. He goes to the doctor next week. He is wearing 3-6 month, 9 month, and some 12 month clothes, still size 3 diapers.
He loves to eat food even more now! He has now had peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and acorn and butternut squash for dinner. Everything has to be mixed with prunes to help with constipation. He still nurses once when he wakes up in the morning and then drinks 6-7 ounces every 3 hours.
His feet and paper are new obsessions, he wants them both in his mouth. I think he is teething, but I haven't felt any teeth yet. He got his first ear infection this last week.
His sleeping habitats are about the same. He goes down for bed between 8 and 9 and sleeps until 5 or 6. He usually takes a short cat nap around 7:30, a nap around 10, another nap around 2, and a short cap nap before bed. He wakes up smiling and talking to us.
Lincoln,
You are growing so fast. I love it and at the same time it makes me a little sad. It actually feels like you have been part of our family forever. You are such a sweet boy, and I smile just thinking about you. You love being outside and taking walks in your stroller. It is easy to make you smile and laugh. Jackson cares so much about you, looks for you first thing in the morning, and loves to play with you. You two are going to have so much fun together when your bigger. I pray that the happiness and all the smiles you have never diminish, but grow bigger as you learn about how much Jesus loves you. I am so thankful He chose you for us!

Five Months of Lincoln

I can't believe we are already at 5 months! Lincoln continues to be such a happy, happy boy. He smiles as soon as you walk into the room. He only fusses when he is hungry or tired.
He weighs around 16 pounds and is 26.5 inches long. He is still wearing size 3 diapers and 3-6 month clothes.
We have made some huge gains in sleeping this last month. Lincoln is now eating vegetables once a day at dinner time. He has tried peas, carrots, and prunes.
The solids have caused a bit of constipation which is where the prunes (and apple juice) have come into play. He stills drinks 6-7 ounces every 3 hours.
Sleep has been better this month. For the most part, Lincoln goes down between 8-8:30 in his crib and sleeps until somewhere between 4 and 5:30 in the morning. Every now and then we have to go in and put his pacifier back in early morning.
Lincoln is getting stronger and loves to try and sit up. He loves to grab anything he can get his hand on and then put it in his mouth. I am pretty sure he is working on cutting a few teeth. He is content playing on his play mat or jumping in the jumparoo.
Lincoln,
You are such a blessing to our lives. Your smiles melts my heart and makes nothing else matter. I find myself talking about you all the time and missing you throughout the day. I can't wait to get home to play with you and your brother. Speaking of your brother, you think he is so funny. You laugh and laugh at him. I cherish the time I get to rock and hold you as I know it won't last forever. I pray that you know how wide, how high, how deep Christ's and our love is for you.
I love you forever and ever,
Mommy

Four Months of Lincoln

Lincoln's personality shines through more each day. He is such a happy boy!
He wakes up smiling and talking. Jackson can sure make him laugh, especially when he jumps up in front of him.
He weighs 15 pounds 2.5 ounces and is 26 inches long. We made another jump up in diapers to size 3. He is still wearing 3-6 and 6 month clothes but it is all getting a bit snug.
Lincoln loves to eat! He drinks 6-7 ounces every 3-4 hours and takes 8-9 ounces in his last bottle before bed. He usually falls to sleep between 7 and 8. If I am lucky he sleeps until 4:00 or 5 before waking up to nurse. However, we still have several nights where he will wake up at 2:30 or 3 to nurse. Some nights I can get his pacifier to do the trick.
We are not on consistent schedule with naps. Some days at school he naps no more than an hour all day and other days he will take a 3 hour nap. At home we try to get a morning, afternoon, and evening nap.
Lincoln has mastered a few new things this month. He can now roll from his belly to his back and his back to his belly. He will not do this trick in front of the camera though:) He also likes the jumperaoo.
He has a cough and congestion that we think is from allergies. We took him to the doctor and there is nothing we can do but elevate his head when he sleeps and run the humidifier. I am praying it clears up soon.
Lincoln,
I can't believe how much you have grown in 4 months. I am so thankful you are healthy. I prayed so long for you, it is such a blessing watching you grow and be your mom. You make me so proud just being you and that will never change. Just when I think I can't love you more you smile at me and my heart grows ten times. You love watching your brother and he is pretty protective of you. I can't wait to see you guys become best friends and play together. Oh, I am sure there will be some fights, but I am praying you are each other's biggest fans. Your daddy and I are so thankful for you and are praying that you are a man of God that lives with integrity in all he does.
I love you, Lincoln Wayne.
