Relaxed

Brian sent me a text on Thursday saying to pack my bags. He convinced his parents to watch our boys overnight and booked a hotel downtown. 

After school on Friday, we said good bye to our boys and headed out.
We stayed at the Omni, and it was very nice. We were SO excited to sleep through the night!
Brian also booked us a couple's massage for Saturday morning. 
It was wonderful!

We stopped by the Galleria on the way home to do a little shopping.
It was a wonderful mini "vacation", and so sweet of Brian to plan it. He's a keeper!

We spent the rest of the weekend playing with our boys and making more decisions for the kitchen. It is almost done!!

A Super Weekend

Friday morning Lincoln was sitting up in his crib looking over the edge, so we lowered the mattress down. This little guy is FINALLY feeling better! So thankful!
 Saturday was ALL about Jackson! Daddy and him had a date to Home Depot for Build-A-Car Workshop.
 He loved every minute and was so proud of his apron and car.
 My man is such a good Daddy!
 Then, we spent the afternoon with Jackson at Monkey Joe's for a birthday party. I saw half of my school there and even ran into some current students and parents, good thing I looked decent!
Brian and I had date night at home once the boys went to bed. We finally started the movie around 10:00 (ah, the life with two little boy-what blessing they are)! We watched Captain Phillips, which I thought was great, but after that and Lone Survivor I can't take any more intense true story lines. I only want to want Romantic Comedies for the next few months!

We had a Super Bowl Party at our house. Since our teams (Packers and Texans) weren't playing Jackson decided that the Seahawks would be our team to cheer for. He made a good choice!
Old Maid and Go Fish were more entertaining than the actual football game.
These people are the best part of any weekend!

Weekend High Five

1) The boys all ready for picture day at school. Love those faces!

2.) For two weeks, Jackson has been looking forward to Screen on the Green. A local church projected The Croods on a big screen Friday night. So fun!

3.) Saturday morning soccer game. I haven't showered for one game. Impressive, huh?:)

4.) After church on Sunday, we soaked up the beautiful weather together. Notice the soccer ball? It goes everywhere with us!

5.) Poor Lincoln had a low grade fever which we thought was from teething. When his fever spiked higher we took him and found out he has an ear infection. Poor little guy!

An Apple Crisp Kind of Weekend

There was some talk of cooler weather coming to town this weekend.
And it came, but not until after Jackson played his first soccer game in the 90 degree heat!
Would you believe Jackson is the youngest of the three?

We spent lots of time together at the movies, park, outside, and watching football. A perfect fall-ish weekend complete with taco soup, apple crisp, and caramel apples!

Life Lived

Between waking up in the middle of the night to feed Lincoln, getting up early for school, teaching all day, pumping, and life after school I am wiped by Friday. I was so exhausted I actually took a nap after dinner, exciting life we live over here!:)

Saturday morning, the boys and I had a date to Panera. Pumpkin pie bagel and a latte are not a bad way to start a morning.

Next, we headed up to Church to meet Coach Brian. Jackson was supposed to have a soccer clinic, but it was cancelled due to weather. Instead, Jackson got his uniform, and we met our team. We spent the rest of the day practicing soccer. Someone is pretty excited about the season!

Sam joined us for Church and lunch today. We heard a great message about grace and living for Him.
 So thankful she did and that I get to work with her each day.

I am not perfect nor is our family, but I am so thankful God gave them to me and he lavishes his love on us daily. So blessed!

Labor Day Weekend

We enjoyed a lot of family time this weekend.
 
Saturday we ran errands and had movie night. We now have a monitor for Lincoln. Once his cold is gone, he will be moving into his room. 
And it was free, can't beat that!
Sunday we went to church and bowling. Jackson had to sit out the first game because of some poor choices at home. I have never bowled worse than I did this day, but at least I was with some fun people.
 
Monday morning Jackson and I took a bike ride while Brian took Lincoln and himself to Urgent Care. He has strep throat and Lincoln has a cold (nothing we can do for him).
We rescheduled the cook out with Aunt Midge and her family and just laid low at home.
 Every minute with my family is a blessing!

Memorial Day Weekend

Growing up I went camping each Memorial Day weekend. One day Brian and I hope to take our kids camping and make it a tradition with some friends.
 
Lincoln made his first debut at Church on Sunday. He ate his way through the whole service! That afternoon we decided to be brave and take both kids to our Sunday School Class Pool Party.

Jackson had a blast swimming with Daddy and the other kids.
Later that night at home, we let Lincoln experience the pool for himself. We dipped his feet and hands in the water. I think he liked it!
 
Having a holiday on a Monday means Daddy is home:) We walked to the park, and Jackson enjoyed the new equipment.
 Aunt Midge, Uncle Dan, Kim, Jonathan, and Aaron came over to swim and cook out for dinner. Aunt Midge fed us well.
 
What a fun and relaxing (I napped each day) weekend!

Highlights

I can't complain about the week nights because Brian picks up Jackson, and they are both home when I get home. Brian does a devotional with Jackson, and I cook dinner. But, the nights are not nearly as relaxing as the weekends.
 
A few fun things we did this weekend:
 
1. Date Night
Our church had Parent's Night Out and we took advantage. We went out to dinner at Chuy's and ate our weight (which is a lot these days) in creamy jalapeno dip! We also did some shopping. Jackson really missed us though. He even woke up Saturday morning and the first thing he said was "Mommy, I really missed you last night." Melts my heart.
 
2. Latte and Pedicure
Brian sent me off for a pedicure and eyebrow wax first thing Saturday morning. Coffee, gossip magazines, pampering, alone time= a pretty great start to any morning! I always leave feeling like a new woman:)
 
3. Artwork
Brian created a canvas for Lincoln's room. I LOVE how it turned out!
 
4. Picnic at the Park
After church we drove to the park with a few animals. We enjoyed lunch outside together and then looked at the animals. Jackson was disappointed the goats wouldn't come eat grass from him.
 Jackson also played on the playground and kicked the soccer ball around with Daddy.

 5. Shaved Ice
On the way home from the park we picked up some shaved ice because we were all a bit warm. Jackson didn't remember it from last year, but quickly knew he liked it!

A Perfect Balance

This weekend was a perfect balance of fun, household duties, and relaxing.
 
Friday night we met some friends for dinner at Willie's and enjoyed the beautiful weather out on the patio.
Saturday morning it was just Jackson and me. Since all he wants to do lately is play, that is what we did (in between throwing in and folding several loads of laundry). We played pirates, cars, trains, kitchen, and tricks; Jackson's made up games.

After lunch on Saturday, we headed up to my school for the Spring Festival. Jackson enjoyed the bounce house and playing several games. Not so sure about everyone coming up and saying hi:)
Lots of playing and relaxing the rest of the day.

Sunday morning we made a quick, chilly trip to the park. I love this boy and his dad! Brian gets him laughing so hard that Jackson forgets to breathe.
We made a quick trip to the Easter Bunny per Jackson's request. While we were there Bass Pro had an Easter Egg hunt, so Jackson joined in on the fun!
We wrapped up our weekend with a great Easter communion service at Church. I am so thankful God chose to send Jesus to redeem us from our sin.

Weekend Happenings

Brian had off Friday to finish up a few things around the house, so he went to get me a coffee before I left for school. That is a great start to the weekend!
 
Friday evening we met some friends for dinner at Chick-fil-a and then came back to our house. The kids went swimming in the hot tub. Jackson loves having kids at the house to play with. Jackson was up way past his bedtime! However, that did not result in sleeping in on Saturday.
 
Saturday was another party day. We celebrated Huntley and Lilah's birthdays at the same time and place! Jackson went back and forth and enjoyed double the sugar!
Brian gave Jackson and me a much needed trim. The money he is saving us by cutting all of our hair is starting to add up!
 
 Sunday morning was spent at Church.
 Love my boys!
Jackson is starting to sing along with the songs on KSBJ in the car. Nothing sweeter than "worship His holy name" from your almost 4 years mouth.
 
We had a fancy lunch at McDonald's, ha!
And enjoyed a lot of time outside.
