A Day At The Farm

Jackson and I had the best day! I took off work and went with him on a field trip. We went with his preschool from last year. Our first attempt was rained out, but today was absolutely beautiful! (Brian was going to come along but stayed home with Lincoln.)

At the farm waiting for his friends

Hayride

Victorie and him were inseparable, so cute! There are a bunch of fun activities to do.
Cow train, fort, bouncing pillow, pvc slides

He was loving every second!

Duck races, spider webs, pedal tractors, play area

Love him!

Rope swing- Whee!

More fun!

I am so thankful I was able to take the day off and spend it with Jackson. It is fun watching him get so excited, playing with friends, and being so sweet. I love creating these memories with him!
Blessed!

Planes

Jackson and I had a special mommy-son date on Saturday.
He has been waiting all summer to go see Planes.
So excited to see the movie!
Jackson wanted to see Planes in 3D to see the planes fly right at us. Since it was a special time with him before I go back to work, that it what we did! (It was my first 3D movie.)
We both loved the movie. I thought it had great themes weaved throughout the movie (which we talked about after), and I only heard one bad word. I know what toys Jackson is going to want for Christmas:)

I am thankful for some one-on-one time with my big boy, and Lincoln had fun with Daddy!

Back to Reality

Well, the 20 hours back home in the car were worse than the ones there.
I still had Monday off before I had to head back to work. Grandma and I took Jackson to the park and enjoyed the sunshine.
Chick-fil-a was an easy choice for lunch since there are none in WI.
Jackson asked to go to the library after lunch, and we were happy to oblige. Jackson checked out about 10 books and The Caboose That Got Loose has been his favorite. It is the longest, strangest book ever:)

And the rest of the week has looked something like this:
Well, more like Mel working on our bathrooms while we were at work and Jackson was at preschool.

For one week I would say Mel did pretty well. Jackson's bathroom is 90% completed and ours is about 50% completed. It's all looking great, but I can't wait for the mess to disappear.

Morning Date

There is not much better than spending a Saturday morning with my boy, even if it starts at 6am!
We started with breakfast at Panera or Canera as Jackson says.
LOVE that Panera has Diet Caffine Free Pepsi!
We headed to Barnes and Noble (after an hour at home playing and doing laundry) at 9 when they opened. We read several books on the stage and built a tower.
I hadn't done any crafts with Jackson in a while, so we needed to fix that.
He created his very own Rainbow Turkey and was very proud.
I was very proud of the track I built for him.
2 years ago I wouldn't have been able to do that!
I am so thankful for one-on-one time with my boy. He usually has the sweetest spirit when it is just the two of us, and will say several times how much he likes our date!

Cloudy With A Chance of Flooding

Jackson starts preschool next Tuesday, so the reality of summer fading is really here. We have been making the most of this last week and having fun so far.

I saw that Thomas was playing at the movie theater, perfect movie for Jackson. We met Lilah and Jennifer on Monday to have lunch and watch the movie. However when I went to buy the tickets there was no Thomas, it was Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Not sure Jackson really liked the movie, but at least he loved his hamburger and apples and peanut butter!
Nothing like cooking to wrap up a great morning.:)

All summer long I have been wanting to take Jackson to Noah's Ark pool. Well, we made it there today. We were going to go with a bunch of friends, but plans changed so it was just the two of us. The car ride there was a sweet time. Jackson sang his heart out to every song on the Wee Sing Bible Songs CD.
We got there right when they opened at 10 and played hard until 1:30. Not many people made for the perfect time sliding and playing.
We have done a lot of things with friends lately, so it was actually nice to have a day with just my boy!
Jackson loved all of the different slides.
He made me race him down the slide, but would always go before he said "go."
Little stinker!
Running through the muschroom
There is also a big pool with 2 slides and 2 diving boards. At one point, Jackson told me he didn't like shallow water and wanted to swim in the big pool. He tried out both slides and diving boards. It was fun to go back and forth between the splash pad area and the pool.
More fun with the ark
On the rainbow slide we played 3 Billy Goats Gruff every time. I had to be the troll and say "Who is tromping on my bridge?" Love that boy, he is so much fun!
Have to cool down with an ice cream treat.
What an awesome day with my funny boy, and
I am so thankful for the time I get to spend with him!

Savoring Every Last Moment

Technically I have 16 days before I am back on contract, but with days spent at planning, meetings, and setting up my room I have much less. I am trying to soak up up every last minute with my sweet boy before I go back.

Monday was spent painting, playing trains, swimming and lunch with Caroline and Ella.

Tuesday I had a dentist appointment so Jackson went and played with Bailey and Garrison. Then, we enjoyed lunch with them at their house and went swimming at their subdivision's pool.
Jackson loved the slide, tried out their diving board, had fun goofing off with B&G, and I had fun hanging out with Cindy.

Wednesday I had a doctor's appointment and had 14 tubes of blood taken. Thought I might pass out:)
Jackson kept himself entertained with my sunglasses and the iPad.
Since we were already at the hospital, we got to have lunch with Daddy. It is such a special treat for us to see Daddy during the day.
When we got home, I let Jackson have a new toy I picked up for a steal. It was a lacing block set. Perfect to work on some fine motor skills, numbers, words, and patterns.
He loved them and played with them over a hour. He wanted to take a picture of me wearing the necklace he made me.

Thursday we spent some tine at the library finding some more good books, created our Olympic Rings, made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, and
went swimming (with Aunt Midge and Aaron too).
LOVE my little fishy!

Friday we went over to Jennifer and Lilah's house to play for the morning. We picked up Aaron on our way home and went swimming again.
Fun times and sweet memories with my boy!

I am looking forward to doing a few more fun things with my boy next week before I really start to think about school. Ahh, I can't believe summer is almost over!
