Silly Boy

We took full advantage of the beautiful fall weather and played at the park for a long time tonight. Jackson was in his prime element!
His laugh is music to our ears! It has to be the sweetest sound ever!
-Sidenote: Jackson is running a very low grade fever. Please pray it is just teething and that he feels 100% in the morning.

It's Not About Me

Last week in Sunday school class Becky talked about serving your spouse and putting thier needs first. Her saying was, "It's not about me, it's about you, and it's about HIM!" I love it!

I will share a few things that Brian did for me so far this weekend that spoke to my heart and definitely fit Becky's saying.

Friday I came home to a clean house and I mean spic-and-span! I thanked him and said, "I will just have to wash the sheets sometime thi weekend." Brian responds, "They are in the dryer." Awe, I love that I didn't have to spend this morning cleaning and that I got to sleep in clean sheets last night. He also rented a Last Song, which I have been wanting to see, for us to watch once Jackson went to sleep. During the whole movie I laid on him and he rubbed my hair, just like when we were dating:)

This morning Brian let me sleep in. He got up and took Jackson to the park (I didn't even know they were gone). I woke up to my boys standing over me with a Non-fat vanilla latte and he even went back to get another one when the first one was lacking vanilla. What a great start to my morning!

Now don't get me wrong this isn't a once in a blue moon thing for Brian. He does a great job of living out "It's not about me, it's about you, and it's about HIM!" on a daily basis.

Brian thanks for loving and serving me each and every day!

A Glimpse into the Future?

Jackson LOVES to be outside and he LOVES balls. However, he does not swing a bat or golf club the right way. He would just rather karate chop the ball!

Brian trying to show Jackson how to do it. Our neighbor down the street has 3 boys and is outside coaching the 2 older ones almost everynight and he is hardcore! One night we heard him and thought nothing of it until we rode by on our bikes and he was outside with his 3 year old. I think that is a bit young to be that hard on a kid. I have a feeling Jackson will want to be in sports as he get older. I pray we make it fun for him, that it teaches him good sportmanship, and that we are not the crazy parents!
I can't help but wonder what sport he will like best and if he will be a stud at them all like his daddy.
I have a feeling before we know it we will be sitting in the stands watching Jackson play soccer, baseball, football, and/or basketball and when that happens...

I will be his biggest fan!

Unexpected Blessings

Yesterday after Jackson's nap I noticed an eye booger and wiped it from his eye. No big deal, but as the afternoon progressed so did the number of eye boogers. His eye wasn't pink but I had this feeling he had or was getting pink eye. By bedtime it was more crusty and we decided we probably needed to take Jackson to the doctor in the morning. That was a problem for me because I hate to miss work, but Brian had jury duty so he couldn't stay home. Then I decided I should look at it is an opportunity to spend more time with my sweet boy who is growing so fast.

I got to sleep in until 7, work out, and spend the morning with Jackson at the doctor's.
He did have pink eye and while we were there we checked off a trip back later this week. I asked Dr. Arthur if she would do his well check as well and she said sure. So Jackson got measured and a shot. No crying I was so proud, he was a champ!
He earned that cracker:) He is now 31 pounds, 36 inches, and has a new birth mark under his arm.
We came home and spent the rest of the morning playing with every toy in the house.
He has mastered the circle! I love watching him get better at things everyday.
His favorite part is dumping out the pieces.

Brian did not get picked on a jury so he was home by right before Jackson's nap. It was a rare and special treat to all be home on a Monday afternoon. I was able to get all my progress reports and benchmark scantrons done during Jackson's nap. I think Brian may have napped too!
After naptime we took a family bike ride and stopped by the park. We spent over a hour playing and laughing.
Pulling up on the bars, I think he misses the Little Gym.
He thinks he is such a big boy, I guess he kind of is!

We met a sweet mom and her 5 kids (all under 6) at the park. The first grader was so sweet to Jackson. She would help him up the stairs, push him down the slide, and pull up his shorts:)
Swinging with his new friend Emma
Emma making Jackson laugh. Jackson loves other kids. He gets so excited around them and laughs and laughs at them.
I tried out a new recipe for dinner, cleaned the kitchen, and washed the dishes all before 6 oclock. I forgot I also made no bake cookies for Brian's lunch this week! My week is now looking a little less hetic thanks to my extra day "off".

Can't Just Pick One

Today we had some pictures of Jackson taken. I am very pleased with how they turned out and bought more pictures than I have frames/space for! Take a look and see why:)

By himself:

Love his eyes!

With mommy and daddy:
I am a very biased mommy but I must say I have a very handsome little boy!
He is done!

So which was your favorite one?

Haircuts and Ice Cream

I went back and forth on whether or not to cut Jackson's curls off. His hair would look cute after a bath but any other time in between it was just a mess! So, I decided it was time to get for his 1st haircut.

We headed out for Cool Cuts because what would be cooler than getting your hair cut for the first time in a fire truck or airplane? As soon as we walked through the door I was NOT impressed. I felt crampped in the building, there were a lot of kids, and I was afraid of what Jackson's hair might look like when the ladies were done cutting it. Not to mention it is $2o for a kid's hair cut! I asked Brian if his $5 hair cut lady would cut Jackson's hair. Why not? It couldn't be worse than what we might be getting at Cool Cuts.

Lana at the 4 Seasons said no problem!

The Before Shot: Curls are still there
Jackson's eyes got watery and he was not sure about all of this-

Trying to be brave but the tears are coming-

Nothing a sucker can't cure-

Almost done-

Lookin' good without curls-

Drumroll please...

The finished results!
Not too shabby for $5. That was a good call by me! I didn't take a picture of the back but he looks so cute and grown up!

We stopped by my Aunt Midge's house on the way home to show off Jackson's haircut and say Hi! She treated Jackson to another first. I think he liked this one better than the haircut!
Ice cream? Mom, why haven't I had this yummy stuff before?
(Thanks Aunt Midge! He is still up at 9:51!)
