Memorizing Scripture #19

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for Kyndra; for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Brian sent me a text Monday morning that said read 2 Corinthians 12:9. I did and thought "Oh, that's a nice verse. Why did he want me to read it?"

Then, at lunch time I talked to the doctor and I knew why. God had Brian read it, so he could share it with me. This verse has had a huge impact on me this week. It is one I definitely want to commit to memory. I love how God's word is truth and gets us through whatever we are going through.

The Aquarium

The Saturday before Brian's parents left we took Jackson to the Aquarium. He had been asking to see the sharks all week. We arrived right when the Aquarium opened. Good choice because it was not busy at all.
 My sweet family!
Even though it wasn't that busy the tickets line moved very slowly. We tried to keep Jackson entertain while the guys bought the tickets.
Our first stop was the shark tunnel on the train. Jackson thought this was the coolest thing ever!
We went up next in the Ferris Wheel. This was Jackson's first time on any kind of ride other than the train and carousel.
Looking out over the edge with Daddy. I think he enjoyed it!
Of course, he had to ride the carousel.

We then went inside to walk through the Aquarium. Jackson loved seeing all the fish swimming around.
He took the picture of this fish all by himself!
He wasn't afraid to touch the fish or the string rays.
I was bummed we didn't get to see the tigers. The White Tigers were unavailable due to a drainage leak. We rode the train one more time. Then we went into the restaurant for lunch.

Jackson had a bit of a meltdown at lunch, so I took him outside to play in the fountains. He wanted to take his shirt off, so I let him. Then, he started pulling his shorts off. I told him couldn't do that, and then he didn't want to run in the water. Eventually, he went in and couldn't get enough.
We were all wiped by the time we left, but I loved experiencing all of these things through the eyes of a 2 year old.

August 19, 2011

I had my pre-op appointment and it doesn't seem quite right that I have to pay to have this unwanted procedure. HA!

I wrote the rest of this post when we found out we were pregnant. I am going to post it so when I print my blog book I will have it.

August 19, 2011

I took a pregnancy test on Wednesday (5 days early). After 5 minutes it only had one line, so I thought it was another negative test. Before the test I submitted all to God and knew no matter what he was in control. When I got up about 30 minutes later to work out, I saw a faint second line. I had a glimmer of hope because this didn't happen the last 2 months.

I waited 2 days and took another test this morning. Within 3 minutes there were 2 lines! I couldn't believe it. I was excited and all of sudden nervous. Just to make sure, I took a digital test after school today.
After 3 months of praying and trying, today was the day I had been waiting for. We started trying when we did (which was earlier than I wanted) because God was telling me it was time to submit to Him and let Him determine when we would have another child. I thought this meant it would happen the 1st time again, like it did with Jackson. I guess not. I learned a lot about myself and God's faithfulness these last couple of months. God's time is perfect!

We couldn't be more excited! I am looking forward to our first appointment with Dr. C. We did tell Jackson not sure how much he understands. He keeps asking where his "sister or brother" is.

I Wish...

-I was able to share this picture with you and tell you it was true
-I was able to tell you I was 9 weeks pregnant with Baby #2

-I was able to tell you we saw a heartbeat at our last two ultrasounds

-I was able to tell you my eyes aren't red and puffy

-I was not having to have a D&C on Friday because our Baby stopped growing at 7 weeks 2 days

But, I'm not. I do know...

-That God is control and is already at work planning something else great for our lives

-That our Baby is already rejoicing with our Lord

-That His power is made perfect in our weakness

-That prayer is powerful and the support of family and friends is a wonderful thing to have

-That I need Thee every hour

-That everything will be alright

"I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. I cry out to God Most High, who fulfills his purpose for me." Psalm 57: 1-2

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Date Night

Brian and I took advantage of the last night of having Papa and Grandma in town and went on a date. Yesterday, Brian (finally:0) bought  spoiled me by getting me an I-phone. Our first stop was Best Buy so I could pick out a case.
Of course, I had to get a pink one and it was the only one marked down. Perfect!
Then, we headed over to Chuy's for dinner. Surprisingly there was no wait at 6:30 on a Saturday night. They seated us and then the manager asked to move us. He came back, thanked us, and offered us a free desert. I had to use my new phone and snap a few pictures. As you can tell, we LOVE the creamy jalapeno dip!
We enjoyed fajitas and had no room for our free desert, so we took it to go. We took our time eating and talking without the need to entertain a certain someone.:)
After dinner, we did some shopping for a few things we need for the laundry room. The laundry room was our latest project, and it makes doing laundry a bit more fun!

We were home in time to put Jackson to bed at 9, but a night with just my main man was just what I needed!

Friday Night Foodball

Jackson has been talking about going to a football game with Papa since he got this football shirt about a month ago. Last night, we told him we were going to go to a game with Papa. He was excited, but he wouldn't put his clothes back on. He was really upset with us until I realized why. Since the shirt was long sleeve and the fall weather hasn't quite arrived, we just rolled up the sleeves and wore it with some shorts.
We went for dinner and frozen yogurt before the game. The highschool were Jackson will go in 13 years (if we don't move) was playing so we sat on their side. Jackson couldn't wait to get into the stadium.
His enthuasium changed to pouts when he realized he couldn't go on the field and play with them. I imagine Brian and I might spend many Friday nights in these bleachers once Jackson is older.
We moved all the way down to the front, and then he found a little bit of interest in the game.
Right before half-time I realized the other team was my friend's husband's team. I knew she would be in the stands since he has to be there to coach. Brian and I walked to the other side and were actually able to find her. I also ran into another sweet friend too. God knew I needed to see both of them last night!
He got restless and bored of course! Grandma took him for a walk, and Papa bought him some Kettle corn. Those things helped him last until half-time!

Fishin' the Night Away

After Jackson woke up from his nap yesterday, we loaded up the car to take him fishing for the first time. We were hoping that he would at least catch one fish. He caught one about 1 minute after he threw his line in the first time. Boy, was he excited and hooked on fishing after that!
We would throw his line in and within 1-2 minutes he had another little fish.
Grandma held the important Spiderman tackle box.
 Fishing with Daddy
 Fishing with Papa
All the Fishermen! (Jackson wouldn't take his eyes off the fish.)
He had to help get the hook out of the fish too!
Jackson wanted to cast his own line into the water. He could do it, but he was a little wild and dangerous. He caught Brian's shorts one time. After that we all stood 30 feet back when he was about to cast.
Brian couldn't be happier his son loves to fish!
Jackson loved fishing so much he didn't even want to leave to go home and EAT.
 My little fisherman and me!
Jackson caught at least 20 fish in the time we were there. I would say that is a successful 1st fishing trip!

RAIN

Brian's parents arrived Friday night. Of course as soon as Papa and Grandma came we were chop liver!
Saturday morning, we went out for breakfast and then headed over to Gander Mountain. Jackson remembered Papa said he would take him fishing. In order to go fishing, you need a fishing pole. Jackson picked out a Spiderman one and wouldn't let it go. Another plus to having a pool in your back yard is that you can practice casting!
Learning from the fish master himself
Getting the hang of it!
At some point before Jackson's nap it started to rain. Jackson was so excited! He had to get his umbrella, and rain boots on so he could go play in the rain.

He even convinced Grandma to come out.
Sharon and I enjoyed a relaxing pedicure while the boys did some other things. My feet always feel brand new afterwards!
The rain but a damper on our plans of going downtown to the Aquarium. But, we couldn't be upset because we were so excited that we were getting rain! Instead we got ready and headed out to the mall.
We ate at The Rain Forest Cafe and Jackson was easily entertained by all the animals and action going on. Brian and I did a little shopping while Jackson rode the train and carousel with Papa and Grandma.
This morning we woke up the glorious sound of RAIN! We got up and got ready for Church. We enjoyed lunch at McAlister's and came home to a Sunny sky.
Jackson is LOVING all the attention he is getting. I am pretty sure he will be real spoiled by the time they leave.
He looks so grown up!
It is raining again as I type this. Thank you Lord for the rain!

Memorizing Scripture #18

My verse this time is simple in number of words, but complex in me living this out on a daily basis.

John 3:30 "He must become greater; I must become less."

That is going to be my mission statement. I want others to see Christ in me. I also want be able to share with others what He has done for me and how much He loves them!

Meet Clao

This is the sweet girl we are sponsoring through Compassion International. I have wanted to do this for a long time, and I am not sure what has stopped me. Maybe, the fact that I am a control freak with money. I know how blessed we are and am so thankful all God has provided for us. I just knew it was time to put God's money to use for someone who really needs it. So, at the beginning of this summer we did it! We also have the privilege of praying for her and her family. Through the little bit we give each month Clao has the opportunity to learn, receive nutritious meals, and get regular health screening and medial treatment.

There are so many children that need sponsoring. It was so hard to choose just one. We ended up picking one with Jackson's birthday so we would have something in common with them. We received our first letter from her this last week. I can't wait to get to know her better.

I am hoping that at Christmas time we can bless her and her family even more by giving to her instead of buying things for our families. I am praying that Jackson will also learn about the importance of giving and helping out others at a very young age.

Please pray with us for Clao's health, safety, and for her to come to love and know Jesus personally.

A Long Short Week

Even though this has only been a 4 day work week, it has felt long to me.

Tuesday night, Jackson and I hung out and ate pizza with some great friends. I finally got to meet Mr. Bradley and little Miss Parker. Both are incredibly sweet! Jackson made himself at home with the girls! Daddy had to work late and made it home just in time to say "good night".
Wednesday night, Jackson and I made a Target run. We picked up some medicine, apple juice, and 7 Up for my sinus infection/cold. Apple juice and 7 Up (also the neti pot) always make me feel better! We saw Daddy for about a hour and then it was back to work for him.

Thursday night, we actually enjoyed a meal together as a family. Despite the smoke in the air, we walked to the park. Jackson is such a boy! He enjoyed digging and playing in the dirt/sand.

We were both sporting our Packer shirts in hope for a victory tonight and another great season.
While we were at the park and on the way home, we could see ashes falling from the sky. I never thought I would experience a wildfire so close. It so crazy, surreal, devastating, and scary. Please pray for the families affected and that Texas would get some much needed rain.
When we got home, I was hanging up some laundry. Jackson wanted to help do it himself. I obliged and this was the finished result. Not too bad!
School has been good but CRAZY with Boosterthon, Benchmark Testing, other interruptions, and not feeling well. I am looking forward to this weekend to recover from this cold and long, but yet short week!
