Fall Fun

I am worn out in the best possible way. We had a lot of fun this weekend!

Friday night Jackson and I hit up Old Navy and scored a bunch of good deals. Then we met Brian for dinner, and from there headed to Trunk or Treat at the YMCA. Jackson was beyond excited, and after about 10 cars he had enough fun:) It was actually cool enough that his costume was perfect for keeping him warm.
Saturday morning we slept in until 8! No words to describe how awesome that was. We bundled up (for the 48 degree morning) and walked to the park.
On the way I enjoyed a Pumpkin Latte. Yummy!
These two boys make me smile real big!
After the park, we came home to crave Jackson's big pumpkin. He is just a little excited about it!
I roasted the seeds for the first time, none of us were big fans.
Jackson the Jack-o-lantern and his Jack-o-lantern!
I didn't feel like rolling out cookie dough and frosting them this year, but still wanted to make some pumpkin cookies with Jackson. So, we shaped the M&M dough into pumpkins and ghosts. Worked for us!
Goofy boy, maybe too much sugar!
After church we took some pictures outside with the pumpkin, who we named Stinky Jack! Jackson thought this was quite hilarious.

No day is complete, especially when it is absolutely beautiful out, without two trips to the park,
Or a walk around the block, or  a swim in the pool, or family movie night!

And,

I feel like a new woman! It is amazing what a haircut and color can do, especially after not having one in 13 weeks.

Brian's Birthday Weekend

Our weekend was spent celebrating Brian. Jackson loves birthdays, he is already talking about his! We let Brian open his birthday present on Saturday. Jackson and I got him a new coat and CD.
Brian requested an angel food cake, so Jackson and I delivered!
Saturday evening we went out for dinner and stopped at a park on the way home. After Jackson was in bed, we enjoyed a beautiful night out in the hot tub. Then, we relaxed some more by watching a movie.

Sunday morning we slept in a little bit and eventually rode our bikes to go get birthday donuts.
Jackson wanted candles in the donuts and sang "Happy Birthday" to Daddy again. It really is the best thing. His little voice is so sweet!
Just a few pictures before church!
Birthday boy and Jackson!

After church, we had lunch at Firehouse Subs. Brian had his favorite; meatball sub!
Hopefully, Brian felt loved and appreciated on his special day!

Laundry Room Makeover

I had told Brian for my birthday I wanted my laundry room painted. I loved the color we had in our old kitchen and thought it would be fun in there. Brian decided to wait until his Dad was here to have him help him. Well, Jackson and Mel did most of the work.

Jackson calls Papa Mel a "Roller Man."
Sharon also decided to throw me another little birthday party while they were here. Jackson is ALL about birrthdays, cake, and candles.
Since we had to take down all of the shelving to paint, Brian decided we would put up cabinets instead. This is a picture of before (with the previous owner's junk).
The finished result. I love it! The room feels more open and clean. I also think the color (Olive Hint) looks
better in person.
We bought a small bench to store a few things and/or sit Jackson to put his shoes on.

Now if the clothes washed, dried, and folded themselves!

Just Another Day...

In the our life and in IPhone pictures.

I really do love the camera and the fun editing apps on the phone!

Brian was going to quickly change out our leaky faucet on Saturday afternoon. Well, that didn't happen. Long story short; after a sliced finger, cracked counter top, new sink, and numerous trips to Home Depot the new faucet is in. This is how my kitchen looked at one point during this project. It probably didn't help that I made muffins and chocolate chip cookies while I had no sink or dishwasher to clean up with!:)
We are living at the park right now. It is just so nice outside!
Jackson is really into climbing right now, anything and everything!

 Such a jokester!
Jackson gave us assigned seats on the plane, or was it a truck, or a boat!

Love this nightly ritual! A great way to end any kind of day.
Brian has another health issue he is getting checked out. Lucky him, he gets to wear the heart monitor again.
Looking forward to what tomorrow brings!

Pumpkin Patch

I love all the fun things to do during the fall season! Every year at this time I miss home. Home will always be Wisconsin, even if it hasn't technically been my "home" for more 10 years. I miss the leaves changing colors, The Little Farmer, my Mom's chicken noodle soup, and most of all watching Packer games with my Dad.

Instead, we took Jackson to a fake pumpkin patch here. We opted out of Dewberry Farms this year because it is so expensive and really busy. I heard about a petting zoo/pumpkin patch about 30 minutes from here. We decided to try it out. It was a complete fail, except petting this one pony!
We were there literally 5 minutes and decided to leave. The goats were the only other animals that Jackson could pet, and they kept running away. They had about 15 pumpkins to choose from. It was a real let down. On the way out I ask for our $21 dollars back, and they actually refunded our money!

Jackson would have had a huge meltdown about not getting a pumpkin or having a hay ride, but thankfully there was another Pumpkin Patch back about 5 minutes. We took Jackson to this one 2 years ago.
My Little Pumpkin has grown quite a bit in that time!
The sun was right in his eyes, so he is squinting in all of the pictures.
I had to get one with my boy too! It was definitely too warm for boots, but I wanted to wear them so I did!
It was such a beautiful clear day!

 So thankful for my family!
He could feed the goats all day!

We were waiting for the tractor come back so we could go on the hay ride. When Jackson saw it coming, he jumped up and starting pointing, clapping, and cheering.
We saw lots of Christmas trees on the hay ride. Not much else to see, I wish they would have had a pumpkin patch to take us to.
Jackson was sad not to ride the train, but the line was forever long and went the same route as the hay ride. We let him pick out a huge pumpkin and pay 3 times the amount it was really worth! He is so excited to carve it!
After a fun, warm morning we stopped for lunch at Potbelly's. Jackson loved the big booths. He ate most of his sandwich turned dangling his feet of the side and looking out the window. We were going to get a treat of Freshberry yogurt after, but it no longer exists next door. Boo!

This was the first year Mel and Sharon didn't accompany us to a Pumpkin Patch. We missed you both!
