Thanksgiving Break: Camping

We had a 4 hour drive ahead of us but had the books and movies packed. Lincoln threw up just make the drive a little more fun, at least he got most of it in the McDonald's bag!

We arrived and set up camp right away!

And wasted no time going to explore the state park! It was beautiful!

Jackson and Connell became better friends on this trip.

Ninja style climbing and exploring

It got super cold the first night! Thankfully some friends let us borrow their heater for our tent.
Keeping warm by the fire!

We hiked to the first track site with our group and found some dino footprints!

My heart!!

The Broeders, The Blacks, The Seils, and Us

More tracks!

Lots of hiking!!

Worship around the campfire each night was definitely a favorite of the trip!

Big Dinosaurs

We hiked to a different track site on Tuesday. These tracks were easier to get to.

 So cool!

The boys fished for a little bit too!

What a great time camping at Dinosaur Valley State Park! Lots of memories made with our friends and together!

#hartzeveryday2016 Week 46

Day 316: Thankful for all who serve and have served for our great country!

Day 317: Family pictures today!

Day 318: Jackson took 1st in three races, 2nd in one race, and DQ for the first time in two races. What great teachable moments of how we don't let a race define us or get upset at the officials but come back and work even harder! Proud of my little swimmer!

Day 319: As I was home with Lincoln today and we were playing Hide and Seek, he kept telling me where to hide. I couldn't help but think how that is like me and God. I often tell Him my plans and I'm searching for the way, and that isn't His plan for my life at all. He wants me to seek Him with all my heart, soul, and mind and then in Him that is where I find true peace, joy, and contentment.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

Day 320: Jackson made a Pontoon boat out of recycled materials for school!

Day 321: My little book worm! That's his character notebook next to him. :)

Day 322: Lincoln made Stone Soup at school today, and we feasted on it tonight or ate cookies and drank lemonade!

Swim, Jackson, Swim

Jackson had two swim meets in October.

His first meet in Magnolia he set personal bests in all his races!

 Go Jackson Go!

He took 2nd in 25 fly and 50 back, 3rd in 50 free and 100 IM, and 4th in 50 breast
being scored in 8 & Under.

Such a trooper!

Papa and Grandma were able to watch Jackson swim in the Halloween Meet in the Woodlands.
He was under the weather and still set personal bests in all of his races!! He amazes me each time he swims!!

We spent the night in a hotel because Sunday was an early morning for racing.

He took 1st in 50 back and 50 fly, 2nd in 50 breast and 100 IM, 50 free, and 3rd in 100 free in scoring 7 and under.

Jackson ended up tying for 1st place high point earner at the meet, and he won a Speedo swim bag. I just wish he would have been feeling better, but he gave it his all!

Super proud of our little swimmer!!
